Well at least Core 21 Runs Well But 2 of 2 Core 18 Failed on my GTX 1080, Not an issue on my GTX 980

Just my unscientific 2 cents here, but I think the new hotfix driver has a little less PPD than 372.70 on a 980

Intel i7 3770K @ 4.5 Ghz. / Asus P67 Pro / 2 x EVGA GTX 980 SC / 16gb Corsair Vengeance RAM  / 2 x Crucial 64 gb. SSD / 1 Tb. Seagate / Corsair AX 850  / Corsair H100

Intel i7 3930k @ 4.3 Ghz / Asus Rampage IV Extreme / 2 x EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC  /  32 gb Gskill Ripjaws RAM / 256 gb Vertex 4 SSD / Corsair AX1200i / Corsair H110i GT

Yes I have lost about 300K ppd between all 4 of my cards with the new driver.

I too noticed the PPD reduction and rolled back to 373.06 because it is still where it's at for folding. That is if all you do is folding and are not playing any current release games on the rig.

You like that driver better than 372.90 --- it gives better PPD ?

Thanks to everyone else for sharing their experience with the new "patch/driver" - glad I sat this one out

In my rigs a very slight Yes. Overall for me they just work better, but I'm using these (373.06) in 2 rigs that are running a P55 MOBO Folding AND Crunching @ the same time. My main rig I had to suck it up and go to the latest set of crummy drivers since the newly released games require them to run. YMMV, but I tried them on one P55 rig and rolled them back after a few WUs completed noticing the PPD went down and temps went up a degree or two.(Temps were bumping the the temp limit in AB where I set it and down clocking the GPU)   Again though, they might work differently on everyone's rigs compared to mine.
It pretty much boils down to..................if you want to Fold and run the most recently released games (BF1) you have to update to this hotfix driver release, or choose a earlier released driver that works best for your system for Folding and forgo the newest games.

Going back to 373.06 or I may give 372.90. No Work Units have Failed with this Driver.
Best over all Driver for Pascal and Maxwell GPUs.
On Windows 10 I do remove NvBackend.exe from starting up so I delete it from the Run in the Registry.

Team I can add that with Driver 372.90 I am getting much better PPD than I was with Driver 373.06.
I wished I had run this Driver Version during our last TZC.

Added:
I ran some Collatz as well under driver 372.90 and my time dropped from 38:18 to 19:50 so this hot fix driver (376.48) for duel Folders and Crunchers are not recommended to use.

Do Folding members think it would be a Good idea to just have 1 thread in the Folding section, dedicated to GPU drivers - regardless of Version ?

Just like we do with milestones.

We could create a thread - my title suggestion:  "GPU drivers and Folding"

If everyone knew where to look, and it was not tied to any one driver number, we could be better organized

What do fellow forum members think about this ?

the only problem with a single thread is that the owner of it will need to keep the first post updated with accurate information, else people will have to dig through it to find relevant information. but if someone is willing to keep it updated than i am all for making and stickying it.

Or tack onto Folding@home Important Sticky Links and Posts (Please read)
Can be a link to this Thread, or a whole new Thread Called Current Graphics Drivers.
We also have AMD Members here to so we need to have that in the Thread as well.

For what it's worth, I get this error with any driver version 372.55/.70/.90 - 373.06 - 375.63/.70/.95 - 376.09/.19/.33 & now the "hotfix" 376.48
01:28:39:WARNING:WU00:FS01:FahCore returned an unknown error code which probably indicates that it crashed
01:28:39:WARNING:WU00:FS01:FahCore returned: UNKNOWN_ENUM (127 = 0x7f)

As far as I know, I've only had one "bad work unit" error & I believe it was with driver 375.70.  FahCore error code message comes up pretty frequently on all but 372.90 & 376.48.  With 372.90, I would get one every 2 - 3 days.  Last night was first one (in a little over 3 days of use) for 376.48.  Most of the other drivers I would get one in as little as a couple hours after driver install.

I've not had any problems with any other cores, only core 21.  Running Furmark, card runs flawless with +50MHz overclock on core speed, & never exceeds 68C (water cooled) except when running some core 21 work units where it has reached 70C.  IMO this is an error with core21, not a driver or video card error....

If you want to Fold it is best to use Driver 372.90 ATM.
Under the Hot Fix Driver 376.48 I stated to have Core 18 Issues on the GTX 10xx Cards or Pascal.

soullesshunter i have 376.33 for my 1070s

And that Driver is also known to not work on Pascal and Maxell Graphics Cards. Core 21 (OpenMM GPU) issues with new Windows NVIDIA drivers 375.57  and 375.63 and 376.33 are part of this bad driver.
New Hot Fix Driver 376.48 fixes folding issue.

Not yet, 378.48 or whatever the last one was works enough for me. I tried to get on 372.90 but with windows wanting to update it, there was too much hassle involved.

I am Still Waiting to for this to happen.
