Help, I don’t want to do a fresh install! 
I have a EVGA 970SC. and this morning I tried to update my Nvidia Drivers to 368.22.  I went to the Nvidia website and downloaded the driver.  I clicked install and it failed.  I tried it in both Custom (clicking Clean) and Express install.  I read online If it fails to turn off virus (Webroot) and delete all Nvidia folders.  Did that restarted (all icons huge now) turned off virus again and tried to install again…failed.  Downloaded 365.19…failed.  Getting desperate now…went to windows update saw there was a waiting update tried to install that, windows update failed.  Tried in safe mode…failed.
What can I do?  All was good last night…and of course there are no saves in recovery to go back in time.

Download DDU (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) and run it in Safe Mode and then try and reinstall. Sounds like you have a corrupt driver file somewheres.

try to run the driver installer as admin. If that doesn't work reseat the graphics card and make sure all cables are not loose. Maybe try another PCIe slot.
 
Also make sure when you run DDU you click Clean and restart
 
If Windows updates are not updating properly and failing, it may be a corrupted OS file. It would be best to reformat and reinstall Windows if all else fails.

Sounds like an issue with Anti Virus software or not enough space on the drive it is being installed on. If your drive is not full try turning off any anti virus software you have running.
