This is just a very rough guesstimate looking at too few results to draw rock-hard conclusions, but so far i guesstimate that my single 1080 SC running at 2088MHz during folding is producing roughly 15 times the ppd than I can do running my i7 6900 OCed at 4.2ghz with the number of cores automatically selected by the program. That's pretty harsh. I mostly have stopped using the cpu for that reason, but I've done it a couple more times just to try to see more accurately what the effect is. I think I'm going to shut my machine down today and put the 960 SSC back in to use as a folder, and then stop using the cpu permanently. I think I'll be at over a million ppd or so with that setup. I'll also plug in the Killa Watt and get some good power readings.

notfordman, Love..... Really LOVE the G910. Keys are really nice to type on, not the really weird shape previously. Kept catching the edges.... felt wrong. No key popping off either so far. Backlighting is absolutely fantastic. My boy's are jealous and want one for themselves... Might be a Christmas present for them...

To begin with was folding on laptop , media pc and gaming pc with both CPUs and GPUs but the only one that returned any decent PPD was the gaming GPU so only fold on that now. If you work out the ppd/watts its much more efficient by far!

Chris21010 My 5 gpu rig costs me $80 a month to run. And if you only run during off peak hours it's $65. And this is for 5 gpu's so unless your rates are a lot higher than mine, $0.21per KWH, costs of running a gpu isn't that high. Power is only that expensive for me during the summer during peak hours. It's only 7.3cents/kwh right now during off-peak hours. It gets slightly better after November. I guess that means I can't afford not to fold with my cpu, right? :-)

Crunch Boinc projects on them CPU cores, they're just not cut out for folding.
