I sure hope Nvidia has some sort of "detonator" drivers ready, kind of what they did to rain on AMD's parade back on those days, otherwise they're facing tough competition (which is good for us consumers)....

I miss the Phenom II and Radeon days. 7 years since we had a real team Red GPU and CPU competitor. 2021 and 2022 are going to be great for consumers!

I wish MS would give us DXR/DML already. I need that scaling on demand like Forza Horizon 4 does. Give me some new drivers and API support!

I remember those days, funny you brought this up as I was thinking about this very thing today.
Have they reached maximum performance with the drivers that are out now? I seriously doubt it, the NVidia 3000 series are monsters. How much headroom is left for them to tap with driver updates is the million dollar question.

I am excited for AMD to finally be competing on the high end. this will make the next gen insane imo.

500mb drivers and the whole concept of customized game ready specific drivers is a pretty clear indication these have become increasingly bloated, which you bet translates to leaving measurable performance on the table. We’re due for some 500 series drivers and a rewrite. Frankly I am amazed we went this long on the same 400 series deivers.

I miss when ATI came out with the 9700 Pro and just was just like...double nVidia's GeForce 4 cards for about the same price as their..I think it was a GeForce Ti 4600 at the time (they came out with a 4800 a tad later), and the 9700 Pro continued to smash the GeForce 5 FX cards as well, nevermind the 9800 Pro.  That was a good few years.  And AMD procs were cheeaaaaaaappp even for the time.  Intels were so stupid expensive and had higher clock speeds but ran like dirt.
