Hey guys,

I recently shipped a PC and a fin on the finstack somehow got bent in the shipping process. Should I contact EVGA to get it replaced/fixed, or the shipper?

Thanks!

The fin was damaged during shipment so in my personal opinion the shipping company should pay for the damage if it was insured. However, for a 2nd opinion call EVGA tech support.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

It is true that they should. The problem is to present proof that the damage was not there before shipping, so transport companies sometimes try to use that as an excuse not to pay. In any case, you do not lose anything by trying.

The customer can leave the fin as is. It won't hurt anything.

Or they can bend it back into place with their finger or another object (the fins are soft).

As for shipping future systems, I always remove the GPU. The things are too heavy to ship (with the GPU) in place.

+2.... I imagine it may have gotten bent while it was not installed in the case?  I don't see how if would get touched if it was installed inside a case, and secure.  If packaged loosely (seperate), any little hang on that fin and movement of the card in it's package could bend it, they are very fragile.  I don't see how the shipper could be held responsible for it, honestly.
Was the card installed in the pc, or in a separate box, or the original EVGA packaging?

I'll add another possibility.  I assume the pic was sent to you by the customer.  On my original 1080, I had hell getting one of those power plugs to fit into place, and I mean a royal pain in the rear for some reason.  No matter how I tried to center the pins, it took me forever to find the proper tongue placement for that sucker.  Perhaps someone else had a similar issue plugging it in and tweaked the fin?
