Yes Johnny.. If you notice his fill port is right where that mod would cut into. He might be able to fit it but mostly will not be able to.

Thanks

I have seen how to install the 480 rad and have cut a few tops of cases with dremel, hole saws, and jig saws.  With a 480 you lose your top bay.  Were I have my XSPC Dual bay installed I had to do a great deal of work to get this fillport/drainport to tie into the reservoir.  With a 480 this could not be done.  I would have to drop the reservoir a few bays.  My current configuration will have a fan controller in the top bay.  Then next two slots below that fan controller are occupied by the dual bay reservoir.  The bay below the reservoir will be occupied by another fan controller.  The last bay on bottom will be occupied by dvd burner.  This dvd burner will be swapped out in future for blue ray.

To remove the Tygon R-3603 I took a wet towel and rubbed the lettering off.

I ordered this memory:

CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GT 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model CMT6GX3M3A2000C8

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145318

Waiting on parts to finish the fillport, EK-Supreme HF (Full Nickel), and install the other pump in the XSPC Dual Bay reservoir.

Then just a matter of time before the EVGA 470s and EK waterblocks are ordered. Also need to get Windows 7 64 bit.

Does the routing of the tubing in the bottom tray look better in this pic than in post #36: I used a 45 degree bitspower rotary fitting.

Damn BP Rotary 45 Compression fitting was obstructed by the damn 120mm fan. So I had to pull out the trusty dremel for a quick fix: Now that fitting is no longer obstructed and can operate as intented. I have 4 more BP-45R2CPF being shipped. My EK-Supreme HF - Full Nickel waterblock should be shipped either tomorrow or Friday.

Hey Shooting,
Can you post a pick of how your case looks full view side panel?  I interested in getting a 800D and putting in my 240 rad in the bottom.

Thanks,
Emach
PS Nice ram but if you spent that kind of money for that good of ram why didnt you just get the CAS7 ones?

You're doing a great job on this build.   I love it.

BTW, when you do the top-mount 480 rad you only lose the top 5.25 bay.  I'm using a Feser rad with 25mm fans and about 1/4 of the top 5.25 bay is used by the rad.  Some fan controllers might even be able to fit right in there without issue since the rad is recessed back and fan controllers are usually not that deep or even that tall.

We need an 800D owner's club over here.  There are definitely some very nice 800D builds; especially the water cooled ones IMHO.

I unfortunately am unable to post a pick of the full view side panel because I still have the inner and outer protective film on it.

Corsair has 2 types of DDR3 2000s.

I opted for these:

[font="tahoma; line-height: normal; white-space: pre; "]http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16820145318

8-9-8-24

instead of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16820145255

8-8-8-24

In my book $150 dollars more for the 8-8-8-24 ones was not justifiable. Plus the ones I purchased had free shipping also.

As of right now I do not have any plans of installing a 480 top mounted.  I wanted a fillport to make filling up the dual bay pump reservoir and maintaining the computer.  This is my 4th watercooled pc that I have built and a lot has changed in the last decade.  I will be getting my eVGA 480 video card 2 weeks from now and when I pick up a second eVGA 480 down the road I will have to reevaluate this build.  I will have to see if mounting a 480 on top is still possible, which I would have to say no with the way the BP-YB comes off of the fillport and how I installed 2 rotating 90s to eliminate kinks in tubing from fillport to the res.  If that is the case I will just have to get a Koolance external rad mount and go that route.  Both of my fan controllers have no issues especially the top one with the res below it and the fillport above it.

When I bought the case I saw Armagedean's build at Corsair forum and then I saw Sledgehammer70's rig here.  So many people have done some great things with this case.  Noeru's case is just simply amazing.

Yah, my post wording was a bit unclear.  By "when you do a top-mount", what I meant was "when someone does a top-mount".

I like your approach too.  No need to go bananas on radiators at this point.  Get the gear, try it out, and see where you end up.  The difference between a Feser quad and Feser triple up top was minimal.

Keep the pics coming!

Well this build should finally be done tomorrow if everything gets delivered.  My EK HF Supreme block and EK EVGA 480 waterblock should be delivered tomorrow.  These were late and held up by customs.  My EVGA 480 video card and SSD hard drive will also be delivered tomorrow.

Looking forward to getting her up and running and leak tested.  Then it is overclocking time and stability testing.

I had to order a 10" black IDE cable because did not like the dual EVGA one that came with the board.  Also ordered a magnetic 140mm fan filter for my 240 rad on the bottom.

I will update this thread with the pics of the work I did over the weekend and what I will be doing tomorrow.
