Basically a cosmetic remodel of my previous rig [
link].
This version uses a new slightly modded Corsair Carbide Air 540 case in white, and the Intel drives have been replaced with all new Samsung 850 EVO SSDs with the exception of a single 500GB Velociraptor used for backups.
All fans are Aerocool DS blue fans - 3 x 120mm intakes, 3 x 140mm exhaust (2 of them on the radiator) - really impressed with these fans.
I got rid of the fugly hotswap drive bays at the bottom of the case and covered that area with some perspex covered in some black carbon fiber vinyl wrap - looks way better (imo).
I love how this rig looks, and is the first build not using my Mountain Mods U2 case for many years (in one iteration or another, which is what makes the U2 so amazing)... except for my wife's Z87 mini-ITX build [
link]. The Corsair Carbide Air 540 is a great case to work with, and they've done a superb job of cable management.
I actually built this just over 6 months ago (March 2015), but never got around to taking photos etc. until now, so savor it, because I am about to build a mini-ITX Z170 which will again be a new case and will also be the first time I have not run SLI for many many years.
It's on ModsRigs [
link], but I am unable to upload pics there - some sort of server error.
