HAF 912 showed at PAX 2010 by http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/news/cases-power-cooling/pax-2010-cooler-master-912-spotted/

Updated Original Post as well.

Two things I noticed that I didn't like, the HAF writing on the side and on the third pic it looks like it will not have a black interior.

Wow so it's almost the same width and height as the HAF 922.  Yeah the HAF logo needs to be removed, but it probably won't have a black interior if they want it to be $70.  What I don't like is the lack of a dust filter on that side panel.

Interesting, what about the link I posted to the possible case layout? It had a black interior.

HAF 912 black edition anyone?

I see they increased the size of the CPU retention plate access hole.  FINALLY.

Re:Cooler Master HAF 912 2010/09/05 13:10:30 (permalink)
Why isn’t the interior painted black?
While interior coating is a modern trend, it offers no improvement on airflow or cable management while adding significantly to the costs. HAF 912 follows the form of the HAF 932 and HAF 922, delivering significant value based on intelligent internal design. There is a modular interior, cable management and plenty of expansion for fans of various sizes. Based on end user feedback, a black interior will not be available on the standard HAF 912 but it may be available in differently configured HAF 912 Plus, and HAF 912 Advanced. <-- I guess they are getting some in black interior!

The HAF 912 is the ugliest case in the HAF series... who's with me?  I actually don't mind the looks of the other HAF cases.

I've been waiting on this case to be released for a while. It's been at the top of the list for my new build. It looks like CM and Corsair have been taking pages from each others' books. This thing is like a budget 600T. I haven't had much luck with CM cases in the past, but I might be willing to give this thing a try once it has a black interior and side window. And here I was hoping to build my X58 in the next week or two. Guess not... :(

Pros:
Lighter than the 600T (10Lb difference)
Smaller than the 600T

Cons:
No window
No black interior

Still can't wait to see one up close. Going to slap a couple 200mm fans and an H70 in it. That should keep me happy.

Looks to me like this will be the "Advanced" model. I squealed a bit when I saw it...

Looks cool.  Just so you know the Corsair Graphite 600T is essentially a copy of the Cooler Master Storm Sniper, with a few differences.  The Obsidian 700D and 800D are the only ones with some level of originality.  What Cooler Master did take note of from perhaps Corsair cases is the larger CPU retention plate access hole.  Not quite as large as Corsair, but it should improve compatibility considerably.

It is definitely a Storm Sniper inspired design. I used to own a Storm Sniper and the similarities are disturbing. It looks like they fixed the major flaws that case had.

What would those be?  I've heard complaints about the side panels and overall too much plastic but that still applies to the 600T.  The 600T thankfully has a larger CPU retention plate access hole and a larger motherboard tray which is used to hide cables better.  The Storm Sniper had an open design which does not really hide cables, it allows you to route cables anywhere easily.  I hear the 600T will be available with a windowed side panel and ventilated side panel with a 200mm intake fan, but this could interfere with large CPU coolers.

The HAF 912 has some nice changes which hopefully get implemented into future cases.  The larger CPU backplate cut-out is nice, so are all of the cable management holes and rotatable hard drive cages (although they didn't invent this, still nice to see).  Great little case for the price.  I don't like how the right side panel is secured with normal screws though, and there aren't enough tool free designs.  The Cooler Master 690 and 690 II have a completely tool free design with the drive bays.

My biggest complaint with the Storm Sniper was the excess wiring. There was just too much going on which made it incredibly hard to make things look clean. Neither of the doors really fit properly. Granted that's just what you should expect from mass produced products. It still bugged the hell out of me though. The front plastic also never lined up correctly either. It had potential, but it fell short. QC also wasn't really done either.

I'll be migrating my current system into a standard 912 soon. It's going to be my little brother's new rig so I figure why not get a good hands on. I'll try and write up a review if anyone is interested. This case could potentially be great.

It's probably going to be close to $100. For that price, I can get the CM 690 II advanced (which I like the looks of better).

I'd rather have an HAF 912 Advanced compared to a CM 690 II, but I'd take a Lancool K62 over all of those.  But at $100 you can get an HAF 922 which is the best case in the price range by a long shot in my opinion.
