I keep getting this error when doing a memtest. I am using a evga 750i motherboard, q9300 quad, 8 gigs worth of OCZ2N800SR4GK ram the ram is OCZ 2 gigs sticks, 800 mhz SLI compatible. Its says I can clock the Ram 5-4-4-15 2T with 2.1 volts. I have went in bio and changed the settings to mimic this but still get ram error. I have switched sticks around and keep getting same error. Even tryed another brand of ram and keep getting error. Am I missing something on setup? I am not the smartest apple in the bunch when it comes to pc setup, so its prob a dumb mistake on my part. But I have been working on it a week with no luck and I am coming to wits end. Please help.. I am running Windows 7, using a WD black 500gig HD, 9600GSO 1.5 Nvidia card, if you need to know..

The RAM comes in matched and tested pairs...you need to keep those pairs together (in the same colored dimm slots). You also need to run MemTest on each stick individually, to make sure that none are bad.

I installed ram in proper slot per package, still getting same error. I tryed known good ram from my other pc and still getting error. Possible bad motherboard? What else can cause a computer not to accurately store data on ram... Any help will be great.. Thanks..

Please create a signature listing your detailed system spex, including all model numbers. A bad memory controller could definitely be the cause. Might want to contact EVGA tech support! 888.881.EVGA (3842) M-F between the hours of 9AM-5:30PM PST. <=== Apparently it is 24/7!

The first thing you will want to do is go into your bios and manually set the proper timings and voltage for you ram! CL 5-4-4-15(CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) 2.1V I still think there is a good chance your memory controller has issues, but try that first. While you are at it, change this setting to disabled as well: PCle Spread Spectrurn(MCP): [Disabled]? NOT LISTED PCIE [DOWNSPREAD]

The CPU is your memory controller, not the board. Check the CPU socket for bent or damaged pins. Also try 1 known good stick in each colored slot to make sure they are all functioning. P.S. Slanty - Tech support is 24/7 :)

havent checked the cpu for problems -- I have tried known good ram in all four slots -- and I still get errors each time.

On the I series Yes! As for the tech support thingy I listed, it was just a copy and paste from one of EVGA's pages. You may want to tell them to fix it!

SteveAle I have tried it with proper timing settings and voltage, but didnt mess with the spectrurn steve, the spread spectrum is for spreading the frequency out to protect against emi. keep it disabled for now. if all else fails , try it with stock setting later but i doubt it will help. def get your ram settings off auto and set them up to 5-5-5-15 2t at 2.1 volts. thats a more natural cas setup for a cas5 set of ram. only use 4gb for now in the first two dimm slots. tryin to boot 8gb is gonna make you raise voltages even higher to run all that hardware and were just trying to sort your problems right now. try raising your fsb one notch over the auto setting, and your mcp and spp voltages also. then manually set your cpu voltage for the default ghz of the chip and go one notch higher there too. also, running your ram linked and synced should help also. dont set it to run 800mhz with a 1333 fsb...its just pointless. your not gonna get faster than a 1:1 ratiio anyway! k try that for now and see where that takes ya. report back to us what happens. \m/

I have made the following changes. Thermal management has been changed to TM2 Virt Tech -- Disabled Spectrum -- Disabled FSB Memory Clock has been Linked Ratio set to Sync mode Memory Timing adjusted to 5-5-5-15 with 2T and 2.1v -- Currently its running 667mhz with a 1T CPU core raised to 1.4 volts CPU FSB raised to 1.25volts Memory is still at 2.10volts NF200 raised to 1.3 Ran memory test and failed with same error withing 10% of test..

Still sounds like a bad controller. You should contact EVGA and tell them what you have done and if there is anything else they want you to try before setting up a RMA. Have you tried a single stick of ram in the closest slot to the CPU? Does it still fail with the same error? Also, turn down your CPU vcore voltage. No need to run a stock setting at such a high voltage. You should keep it below 1.3625v if possible to keep the CPU in its normal operating voltage range.(0.85v-1.3625)
