I would go ahead and try first, just like it is with the 9-9-9-27 timings. If they do not work then, try 9-9-9-30...10-10-10-30.

That is good news, way to go, Bob!!

Blackhawk, no.....you do not NEED 8GB's of system RAM installed for gaming. Sounds like your board reacts just like mine does...I also cannot run 8GB's of RAM at 1600MHz which, is what I was trying to find out.

However; I can, and am.....easily running 8GB's at 1800MHz so, once we know that you can get stable with 4GB's at 1600MHz.....we'll see if you can run all 8GB's at 1800MHz if, you would like to try that.

I am a little concerned about your PSU. The spex show that it has 4 - 18amp rails with a combined loading of 60amps. Each 470 requires 38amps and then you've got the rest of your hardware on top of that. I would seriously consider upgrading to at least a 1000watt PSU just to make darn sure everything is receiving the proper amount of power.

My Patriot Viper ram was getting unstable @1600mhz link and syn. had to remove 2 stick and set ram to default 7-7-7-20 settings and all is running normally again
