The cutechat software evga was using wasn't free. I think the license for it was around $300 a year. EVGA wasn't seeing any benefit from it so they pulled the plug. We have heard broken promises by EVGA saying "we plan to look into bring it back after forums upgrade". we see that never happened, we just hear more excuses from them. They hope people will forget about it.

Hey Sappy, long time no see. No chat software at the moment, or the near foreseeable future, unfortunately. On a side note, I was just talking to onishchuk4 the other day, and he was wondering how you are.

Sadly no, it'll never come back despite members offering CS support and even selling a few graphics cards by helping people to figure out what to get, EVGA feels its a waste of time.

Not coming back, and it's no big deal.....although people do use it as an excuse to attack EVGA.....like it is owed to them lol.

I doubt there will be a chat again. Chat is a lot harder to properly moderate because of it's real-time nature. I don't blame EVGA for not starting up a new one. If you want an EVGA chat, there is always the Steam group chat.

Yup! That's the biggest problem. There are all sorts of free chat applications EVGA could use if they wanted to. EVGA could also create their own chat application if they wanted to. It's not an issue of money. And it isn't necessarily an issue of lacking motivation either. The issue is the nightmare which chat creates. Chat can easily turn into spam, virus propagation, harassment, and all sorts of other legal problems which EVGA certainly does not want to be a part of. I understand why EVGA would want their community to use someone else's chat service.

Agreed. There are far too many people (I won't start throwing names) that would purposely go in the chat just to piss people off/screw with people. I have seen how awesome a properly moderated chat is, as well as how bad they can get with bad moderating. TL:DR, This forum just isn't mature enough to handle a chat box.

Problem with voice chat is not always do I wanna chat that way. I'd rather be able to walk away and come back and see what people were talking about. And not always do I wanna talk talk
