Is the market starting to rationalize? I have gotten a few emails from eBay about huge price drops on cards.

some new eBay inventory should be appearing any time now. bots just finished skimming up the recent EVGA cards at Best Buy, just a short time ago...

arestavo Thank God I was able to snag a card directly from EVGA. It was a 70 minute fight on the 24th, but at least I came out victorious!
But did you?... thank you Mr. Beta Tester... please post any testing and crash results. Thanks - Regular Consumer

This is so gonna crash in their face just like the real estate market in 2008... especially if there's additional POSCAP, firmware, or driver issues. People like me are riding this out, waiting for all of the dust to settle and get a more 'vetted' product. I sure as hell wouldn't buy a scalped product off of EBAY right now even if it was at retail price... forget that, I'll wait until v2.0 of all these cards comes out and they've dealt with all of the stability problems.

youcanteatthat EVGA and NVIDIA absolutely do not care who buys the card. it's a sale. they'll never leave pre orders to elite members or pre existing customers, because to them it absolutely doesn't matter. they don't care that bots are buying the cards. they don't care that they're selling to scalpers. $800 and $1700 are just numbers they're more than happy to get from anyone. there's no camaraderie in business.
EVGA has stated each order is being looked at to see if they spot bots.

Then what? Cancel the order, then back to inventory for the next bots to grab? How does that help?

I think you may be on to something. Prioritize by the age of the buyer. Older people can buy first. I'm 58 so you get yours after me!

UnusualAttitude I'll keep checking. Interestingly bestbuy.com has a "release date" for several of the cards set at the end of October.
Sounds about right. I really like to just wait at this point and pick up one that has a wb on it. I prefer evga but might have to settle for a MSI or other brand.
