For people who want Air cooler I always recommend only Noctua NH-U9S or NH-D9L.
Nothing else.
Look example their size on ATX Motherboard...
They could be turned in different direction depend of airflow, no problems with memory heatsink.
NH-D9L is easier for installation, but NH-U9S could work with 2 fans up to 2000RPM.
They are not loud but with resistor they are perfect.
They are perfect for people who still want to stay with air coolers but in normal size and want normal overclocking.
Not system to struggle on edge of stability, best overclock is when you get 20-30% performance improvements and CPU work in conditions similar to default without too much voltage, without too much heat...
With both of them any i7 could work overclocked on some nice frequency.
I would like to see how they deal with i7-5960X on 4.0GHz.
I think with normal and safe temps even on 4.2GHz but not over that.
