Looking at getting a 8700k CPU, will the EVGA 280 be plenty of cooling? I did watch a video that was on the forums with JaystwoCents @ 4.3 @ 1.35v and temps were pretty high on a 5930k . Should I be looking at a 360 CL instead?

I think you will be perfectly fine with the CLC-280. Also, don't make the assumption that a 360 LC is always better. See the charts at GamersNexus:

The EVGA CLC-280 can do better than all the others in the chart (including the 360s).
In the end it is a matter of personal preference, but I have the feeling that if you do not want custom LC you will be happy with the CLC-280.

I would love to do a CL just have never done it. Been watching a ton of vids from JayzTwoCents on CL along with some others. Don't know if I wanna add the maintenance schedule to my already crazy life. Ill be restaurant owner here shortly and that's going to take up a lot of my time. But I do agree a CL would probably be better than a AIO in the long run. TY for the reply tho, i do like the CLC from evga and I did watch that video with the same chart a few days ago.

Also been looking at the Ryzen 2700x as a possibility for a CPU, been doing a lot of reading and watching vids vs the 8700k. AMD has come a long way with the temps and performance.

I've had a CLC 280 for about a year now. Solid cooling and no leaks. It's a well-made, plug-n-play cooler. CPU temp is around half of the the coolant temperature level, on average.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
