I just received my 3080 FTW3 today in the mail, direct from EVGA. When I was installing it, I noticed that the EVGA nameplate that is on the bottom of the RGB bar was covered in scratches. None of the tamper seals on the GPU box were open, and the protective plastic was covering the shroud when I unpacked the card. Has anyone else seen something like this with a brand new card direct from EVGA?

You need to remove the thin plastic film that is covering that area.

Oof, I'll have to take it out tomorrow and take a look. That'll be pretty embarrassing if that's what it is, but relieving at the same time. It definitely didn't look like there was plastic on there, it must be very thin!

SajinYou need to remove the thin plastic film that is covering that area. Reminds me of the day when a friend gave me an Android tablet saying "This display's surface is rather sticky and unusable!". Guess what.

Oh dang, i was wondering the same of the nameplate scratches and finding out its a very thin plastic.. really embarrassing lol

I too have a concern. Purchased from Memory Express in Canada. Tamper proof seals in tact. I removed all of the plastic film pieces and see this.

@EVGA_JacobF Why isn't any of the concerns that flowing on the forum Re: daily dying cards not addressed by any of you, obviously something is not right and when we contacting RMA department and asking them straight out, they are very silent and as if they ignoring and avoiding the question just like this issue has been ignored since launch.

Lol had the same thing happen to me yesterday when I finally went to install the card, and when I started picking at it to see if it was a film, I thought I was scratching it even worse. Yeah it's just a thin film cover

There are two films, the big one covering most of the shroud, and a smaller one underneath just for the nameplate. I thought my unit was scratched in the same way at first because it was hard to tell that there was a second film.
