Building a PC from scratch.  I have a question about the Bios Select Switch for the Z790 Classified 13th Gen Mobo.  When looking at the picture of Page 19 of the diagram, it looks like the switch (small square inside the rectangle) is on the left.  But when I look at the Mobo, the switch is on the right.  Gonna see if I can take a picture and post it.  Which is the correct position when I am ready to start up the computer to install Windows 11?

Sorry don’t know how to post a picture.  I appreciate any help you can give me.  Thank you in advance.

You have been around for 25 years!

Bios switch position doesn’t matter too much until you start changing settings. Each position will have the stock bios from the factory, and you can update all positions when you have a moment, but I suggest only updating one, using it to see how it works for you, and if you want to update in a week or two, you can.

If you only update one position and the bios doesn’t work properly for some reason, you will have the option to switch to a different bios that is stock and continue on using the board for the time being.

and always manually enter settings on each bios update.  Bios saves won't transfer to new bios installs.

I don’t want to reinstall the BIOS.  I just want to start everything in its ”Default” position before firing up the computer for the first time.  So which position should the switch be after I complete building the PC?  The figure in the book provided (Page 19) shows the switch on the left side, but on my Motherboard I see the switch on the right.  There is really no description of what the switch does.  I want to make sure everything starts up.
Appreciate the reply by the way.  And yes I registered to the forums long ago when I first bought the EVGA parts.  (^_^)

Either one is default position. They are the same. You decide which one you want to be default.

@terrhian The motherboard allows more than one BIOS to be stored. Each switch position contains a BIOS and its settings. This allow you to update BIOS version, or update BIOS settings, or both, then try it. If issue then can turn off, switch to other BIOS, and turn on. It acts as an additional safety in case you completely corrupt the BIOS accidentally so you do not have to take out the board and send to EVGA to re-flash the BIOS. Note that the settings you change do not copy to the other BIOS of the switch, only the active BIOS. Even then, if both gets corrupted by settings you can still recover by holding the BIOS reset button and it will forget any customer user settings as if first time boot.

Note that if you over time have saved new BIOS versions to all switch positions the BIOS reset button will not be able to revert to older BIOS version, it just erases custom BIOS settings and reset to defaults of the BIOS version stored there.

Oh wow!  Thank you so much everyone for all the input!

The BIOS Reset Buttons brings up another question actually.  I am assuming BIOS Reset Buttons is the same as I/O Clear CMOS Button in the book?  On pages 11-12 of the Z790 Classified guide, mentions to press the I/O Clear CMOS button once, then push the power button the Motherboard to get the computer running for the first time.  You recommend this step when I am ready to start the computer?  Sorry for what seems like an elementary question.  Its been 13 years since building a brand new PC from scratch.

Yep, bios reset and clear cmos will do the same thing. It will take everything back to the most basic settings.
