An other board that supports 4 way SLI at x16/x16/x16/x16 is the Asus P9X79-E WS But the X99-E WS seems to be far better !
why make it simple when it can be complicated ???? rig 1 : Asus P9X79-E WS / i7 4930k / 3-way SLI EVGA 780ti / Quadro K2000 / watercooled / 3D Vision Surround / 3 x Samsung 2233RZ + HP ZR22Wrig 2 : Asus P9X79 WS / i7 4930k / 2-way SLI 770 / aircooled / 3D Vision / Samsung 2233RZ + Samsung 2232BW + HP ZR22Wrig 3, 4 5, etc. : uninteresting !

I spent the last Two days reviewing the ASUS X99-E WS and found that only 1 out of 10 have a working MB. So the ASUS X99-E WS off the Table so to speak.

I'd still go for the ASUS X99-E WS even if I had to RMA it 10 times before I got a working board.

All, Bios, Memory, Drivers, DOA, Bad Memory Slots, Bad Memory, PCIe Slot 1 Problems. Melting Parts, User Errors as well. What you would expect from a new board is what I believe. Bent CPU Pins, but this is hard to really believe. This one came over from Newegg. The best reviews are from users that do not even own one. Sad if you ask me. Still Reviewing, The EVGA X99 Classified is looking Better and Better Every Day. Still waiting for you to update this bad boy.

Updated, still waiting on the 980ti's. If the 980's had more than 4gb of VRAM I would have jumped on board. But 4k Star Citizen demands more! I am not good with signatures...

"The PCIE_4 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIE_1 slot." This alone would keep me from getting this MB for $350.00 Specs under "Expansion Slots"

The best board for 4 way x16 SLI is the AsRock X99 Extreme11, I am pretty disappointed that MSI just put out a New Godlike Carbon board and still no x16x4 ****?

You will not find any Desktop Motherboard that will run 4 x x16 for Graphics Cards.
Both the ASUS X99-E WS & AsRock X99 Extreme11 can do 4-way sli @ x16 on each card. Both motherboards also use a plx chip to obtain the 4-way sli @ x16 on each card which adds a bit of latency. The AsRock X99 Extreme11 is available on newegg right now.

8 way won't be happening. The consumer cards will only have 4 way max. They aren't using Nvlink on consumer cards, that was all hype from review sites and they were wrong the entire time. Nvlink will allow 8 cards go work in sync for processing on the "Deep Learning" front, which is tesla high end, 5k a piece cards.. Not consumer cards. Consumer cards will still have sli.
