I talked with CDW on the phone and they said after talking to their suppliers and looking at what they are supposed to get in, they currently expect it to take until mid to late November to fill the backorders they already have. This is for all brands of the 3080.
Thats alot of backorders waiting to be filled.

You have to figure most figured a backorder was the only way they were ever going to get one at this rate.
At this point they've probably received thousands and thousands of back orders. Surprised they actually expect to fill them that fast.

This isn't really surprising. You'll likely have one quicker snagging one in a drop than waiting for a pre-order.

Especially if like me there are only 2 models you will consider...the top evga or the top asus in the 3080 line

To me it's looking like even thanksgiving may be a little optimistic, unless you're willing to go for one of the less sought-after cards before then.

I had an order with CDW - was in the first 100 for the FTW3 ultra (likely first 50). While I was chatting with them about delivery times, the CSR in the chat cancelled my order w/o me asking him to do so. After I called him on it, his response was "Sorry, I can't undo that. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

Going to see Zen 3 processors and 6000 graphics cards in market long before 3080's become easily available. I wish someone at NVIDIA would get a freaking clue about hard launches. Since I won't see an EVGA hydrocopper FTW3 anytime this year I'll have plenty of time to decide if I really need to upgrade anyway. The F@H performance has been nothing but a disappointment so far.
 Have water, will cool.

We can pre-order at CDW? EDIT: Yeah, just checked and you can "Pre-Order." However, at a pretty large premium. Example: MSI Ventus 3090 is $1689.99 before tax and shipping. When I went to check out, I was looking at almost $1900 for it lol.

I actually did call them afterward. The woman I spoke to was sympathetic but couldn't undo what he had done. I figured it was the universe's way of telling me not to give CDW $120 over MSRP for a card they might not ship for a month or more.
