So I have this issue thats popped up a few months ago, and its annoying enough that I'm about to RMA the card if I can't get an answer on how to fix it.
So I have a EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA GAMING, and I run a dual monitor setup. My main monitor is a 27in 144hz 1080p monitor thats hooked to my gpu with a display port cable, and I have no issues with that at all. My other monitor is my tv, its a 50in 4k 60hz tv thats mounted directly above my main monitor so I have them stacked on top of each other, thats where I have my videos and movies and other things open/playing when I'm gaming on my first monitor.
Whenever I set my resolution to 3840 x 2160 at 60hz through the nvidia control panel, after a set amount of time that varies, it could be 15 minutes, or over an hour, I'll notice that my second monitor will flash orange for a split second. The screen won't go blank and show only orange, I'll still see whatever I have playing on the second monitor clearly, but its almost like an orange flim is put over everything, and then it flashes back to normal. On top of that, once that happens, any part of my second monitor thats showing any dark or black images will then have tiny orange specks that come and go only on the dark/black parts of the screen.
Think of white noise, but its orange, and only on the dark/black parts of the screen.
When I drop the resolution to below 4k, the issue goes away. If I run my second monitor at 4k but drop the refresh rate of the screen to 30hz instead of 60, the issue goes away. Its only when I set the second monitor to run at 4k at 60hz that this happens.
I've swapped the hdmi cable for a different one, and the issue remains when i run 4k at 60hz. And I've used my second monitor with game systems and confirmed via the info screen on my tv thats its running at 4k at 60hz and played for hours with no issues, so I'm fairly sure my TV isnt to blame. I don't have a spare gpu to put into my system to test it, so I'm kind of stuck on any other trouble shooting steps to try.
Has anyone else had this issue or should I just RMA the card? The card is about a year and 2-3 months old, so I'm still covered under warranty. Any information would be helpful!!
