Amazon's Lord of the Rings series will premiere next year | OC3D News (overclock3d.net) Amazon has announced that filming has ended for their Lord of the Rings series, confirming that the series will premiere on Friday, September 2nd 2022. This gives Amazon one year to work with the show's footage and create the first season of their Amazon Prime series. On Amazon Prime, new episodes of the show are due to be released on a weekly basis, though at this time it is unknown how many episodes the series will have. Amazon has released a single image to promote the show. The series will take place thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, exploring the "Second Age" of Middle Earth's history. Outside of these details, little is known about the show's story. Filming ended for the show in New Zealand on August 2nd, and now Amazon has to use their footage to bring the series to life. Amazon has confirmed that they plan to release multiple seasons of their Lord of the Rings show. Being a big fan of the Lord of the Rings I am looking forward to this.

as much as i like lord of the rings i have close to zero interest. make a simarillion anthology series, the books are already movies. theres not really any material to adapt in this series unless they take from the simarillion. and we all know how bad the hobbit was.

I personally thought the Hobbit was great and look forward to more Lord of the Rings. I find a lot of times when people say a movie is bad in a series they are comparing it to the series as a whole. The reality is The Hobbit is way better then a lot of movies made. You can’t tell me The Hobbit is so bad you would rather watch The Emoji movie or Battlefield Earth over it.

I think this is the first time I've even heard of this. I hope it will be good. I loved the original trilogy, but I hated the Hobbit. I didn't even mind the changes from the book, I just hated that you could tell when they were using CGI. The original movies look way better than the Hobbit imo.

I'm rewatching Game of Thrones now. You can tell after seasons 4/5 that they are flailing around without a master plan. Less and less impressive storytelling each season. Leading up to the disaster we know as season 8.
The prequal shouldn't have this problem as it will have the books to follow.
The Lord of the Rings series, also doesn't have a book to go by. I think it will look great, lets hope the stories will be great too.
