Hey everyone,

I recently got my hands on a new EVGA RTX 2070 Black and noticed right away that the "warranty VOID if removed" sticker on the back is misaligned. While normally it wouldn't be that big of a problem, it is on one of the main components in my build that I will see, especially it being right in the middle of the card.

It may seem silly but small things like this bothers me to no end, I can't stop looking at it and knowing that something as simple as a sticker is keeping me from fixing it is causing me stress!

I have been told by friends and others that the FTC have stated that warranty stickers in the USA are illegal and may be removed; but I don't know what to trust unless I hear it from an EVGA representative. I understand that it may just be a scare tactic to keep people from digging around in them or to let the certified repair people know if someone has been inside of them but can I really void my warranty for just straightening the sticker? Is that FTC law real and does EVGA abide by it?

I look forward to hearing your guys' thoughts, opinions and takes on this,
Thanks!

Warranty stickers over a screw are illegal.

Warranty stickers with serial numbers that do not block users from opening the card are NOT illegal.

There is a huge difference and the card on the backplate is 100% legal.

My suggestion would be picking up some black painters tape and cover the sticker, but do not remove it.

You could us a blow dryer and heat the sticker, remove it and reattach it.

This could result in it falling off and losing the warranty. You are compromising the adhesive and shouldn't risk the warranty unless your ok without having any coverage.

Someone from EVGA said on here months ago that if you lose the sticker but have the original box, they can match the card to the box. Or if the sticker comes off you can save it and send it with your RMA.

So, just rip that bad boy off!

If the sticker naturally falls off, that is one thing. Removing the sticker on purpose is completely different.

If someone’s stickers falls off, they should be in contact with EVGA immediately.

If they remove the sticker.. well, “Warranty void if ‘Removed’” is on there for a reason.
