New setup!

Added mods rigs with scores and pictures as well. http://www.modsrigs.com/detail.aspx?BuildID=30419

Added 670 SC 4Gb and surround monitors @ 5760x1080

Update 7/15/12
Added Corsair HX 1050 from other rig and 2 gigabyte gtx 580
Such a size difference!
So many cards!
stripped other rig (I think im going to try to reach 5ghz on the 2600k since i dont use it anymore)

SLI added!!! I also changed my setup a bit, including adding 2 speakers from my surround sound in the other room.
Pics-
My map for DayZ

First of all thanks to everyone who sold me parts for great prices and gave me advice on this build, it came out great!

I still need to put on the panel Kirk made, buy a gaming keyboard, and get another GTX 460. Panel is at post office, i just need to pick it up. I will upload of pics with panel when I get it installed!

The final specs-
  • Case-Dell
  • CPU- I5 2500K
  • Mobo- EVGA Z68 Micro
  • HS- EVGA Superclock cooler
  • GFX- EVGA GTX 460 SC EE (Still need to buy 1 more for SLI)
  • PSU- OCZ 650W
  • CM Storm Sentinel Mouse
  • EVGA Gaming Pad

And now to tons of pics!!!!

Okay so this is going to take me a while to finish but i just want your thoughts and whatknot. I will update this post with updates as i complete them and update title with date change made.

My friend gave me this case and i want to put it to use. I plan on doing a gears of war theme. Im going to paint it white with maybe some blood spatters.

Specs:
EVGA Z68 Micro
Intel I5 2500K
Corsair Vengeance 8Gb Red
Western Digital velociRaptor 300Gb
EVGA GTX 460
EVGA GTX 460
Cooler Master Geminii Cooler
Logysis 4" red cold cathode
Windows 7
Thermaltake TR2 TRX-650M 650W PSU

That being said lets get this started...

Here are the pics i quickly took of the case..

Its not the greatest pictures but like i said i just quickly took them.

Im planning to cut out a section of the side panel and install an acrylic window. On that window i would place 2 120mm fans on the bottom and have Kirk Carpenter etch in the gears of war logo. I would also mod the front and add a 120mm fan and some flight on off toggle switches.

Gears-Of-War-...-psd55079

I think that this will be really sweet once i get it going. Ive spent a couple days just looking up parts and imagining things i can do with this. My biggest problem is the money which is why it will be a slow process, so if you can give me a good deal on any parts that would be great! (Donations are welcome)

Anyways thanks for looking and hopefully i can get some updates done soon! (Gotta go buy some spray paint and borrow a dremel from a friend)

EDIT: Advice/Suggestions are welcome!!

Nice. I wish I could help you. But it sounds good now.

When you do modify the side panal and do the plexi glass dont do it like i did. Use an actual glass cutter. Also use a dremel tool with an actual mettal cutting blade..

Should be interesting to see! OEM cases usually are a tight fit for some more exotic hardware though

It all gets hidden by BONDO anyway once the PVC tubing is there.  Oh how I love seeing a blow hole mod.

Slight setback painting, everything turned out great but the paint on the side panel decided to bubble while putting the last coat on, sigh now i need to wait for it to dry and sand it out.

    Looking good.

I cut a whole in the front of my old Cosmos 1000 case the same way.
To hide the bad cut I used some U-Chanel (car door trim molding stuff) and it hid the rough edges nicely.
