Can't imagine not working in all honesty... I've been working since I was 11... I think I'd probably have a boredom stroke if I retired.

Then you start to see a lot of Validate errors Power Off your R-Box for a few seconds and then Power back on.
I Power mine off at least once a week.

Also Campaign #2 is up now, you will need to check the box cgminer (Campaign #2) (for 20+GH/s ASICs) to run them.

Remember that R-Box needs to be powered off, they say a reboot will not help with this known issues.

Given that the only way I can see to reboot these things if with the off/on switch, I think I'm good.  Oh, had to re-tim one of the boxes, they smear cheap thermal paste all over things including the back of the motherboard.  That doesn't help at all with cooling, so cleaned one up and apply new thermal paste and I'm good.

The slower fans don't really keep it cool, so I'm going to do a push-push when my other fans come in and see if they stay quiet and cool.

Thanks for info on the TIM, I will check mine as well.
I did reduce the fan speed I added as pull fans so they are not so loud now.

WOW!
Talk about an over cooked project. They have enough TIM for at least 10 R-Boxes.
At least I did re-TIM one of my R-Boxes today.
I also TIM'ed the back side where the two screws mount to the aluminum heat sink to the black case.
Now the whole back plates is warm and not only the top part as it was before I re-TIM'ed
I will re-TIM one R-Box at a time over time, it at least gives me something to do.

Well my Project for January
Cosmos ® 8 PCS Aluminum VGA video gaming card RAM Cooling Heatsinks heat sink cooler + Cosmos Cable Tie

Cosmos ® 20 PCS mini Aluminum Chips VGA RAM Cooling Heatsinks heat sink cooler + Cosmos Cable Tie

ARCTIC MX-4 Carbon-Based Thermal Compound, Non-Electricity Conductive, Non-Capacitive, Non-Bleeding - 20g

Other than re-TIM the R-Box I will add some new Heat Sinks on some of the other parts on the IC Board.
Also the back side of the IC Board is a little short and cannot cover 4 of the IC installed that are on the Top side of the IC Board.
The Heat Sinks are what I will use on the top and the bottom 4 for extra cooling.

Don't forget to add 2 | 10 | 11 to your app_config.xml
You do not have to overclock the R-Box so if you do not want to remove the line <cmdline>--rock-freq 320</cmdline> or set it to what you are now using.
And also check them on the web site on your Preference settings.

Some After Images, Yellow Circle and Squares are what I added.
After I took the photo I add one more where the Red Star is but I don't think it is really needed.
You can click on an image for the full size photo.

Note the Fan Header, they break really easy and I do mean easy.

I will use the larger ones on the bottom next time, overkill is better than under kill I guess.

I have 4 of them running now.

I'm using these fans in a push-push arrangement.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835426040

Beauty of it is, the overall fan noise dropped 15 db and cooling is still within range.

For CGMiner (and not BOINC related) I'm using:  cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u Viper97.worker1 -p x --rock-freq 350
pause

There really isn't a way that I've seen to OC BOINC just yet.  Each campaign has a special version of the miner made just for that campaign alone.

Re: ASIC Miners and Bitcoin Utopia in BOINC 2015/01/04 09:19:30 (permalink)
This is how to OC in BOINC

You do not have to overclock the R-Box so if you do not want to remove the line <cmdline>--rock-freq 320</cmdline> or set it to what you are now using.
And also check them on the web site on your Preference settings. I add cgminer-rbox_7 Today

My app_config.xml File

<app_config>
<app_config>
<app_version>
 <app_name>cgminer-rbox_11</app_name>
<plan_class>miner_asic</plan_class>
<cmdline>--rock-freq 304</cmdline>
 </app_version>
