They come with a Ryzen CPU (Ryzen 5 1600 or Ryzen 7 1700), a B350 motherboard and MSI RX 580 Armor graphics cards. Difficult to predict MSI and AMD's marketing on this but if the price is right I think this could sell very well. I wouldn't recommend it for a 4K gaming monitor setup though.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Things change. Currently AMD is pretty good for gaming. That said it’s been about a decade since the last time we saw anything from AMD that people would consider good for gaming and even then Intel and NVIDIA have been considered better. With AMD it’s always about the cost savings vs. the performance loss.

AMD isn't. Their freesync sucks. Their software for gaming is non existent. Their partnered games sucks. They don't offer any unique in-game technology for gamers.

Do you actual game? Reading a bunch of selective benchmarks on the internet isn't gaming. I game a hell of a lot and AMD offers literally nothing over Nvidia.

They should embrace the loot box craze sweeping gaming, put a Threadripper and Vega 64 in one out of every 1,000 boxes hehe.

I would rather have one of the new X470 boards now hitting the street in volume

Yeah Freesync is trash... from 3 years ago maybe.
The two standards are at the point where they’re pretty much equal.
Freesync2 is suppose to be pretty sweet.
Of course RTG has to play catch up to Nvidia.
I wish Nvidia displays came with freesync too so one could jump between systems.

You’ve stated before that AMD offers nothing over Nvidia, a statement that’s more of an opinion or a blanket statement than fact. (And I’m not looking to change your mind, but to point out loud and one sided comments like that. EVGA forum is better than that.)

Just some things they offer that Nvidia doesn’t.

If you’re talking about the ultra high-end GTX1080ti level of performance, no they do not make a drag car. But that’s not the average gamer. Most people drive a civic.

    As for the OP:
Maybe this combo unit is to keep cards around for gamers/system builders and not the crypto market in addition to moving last gen stock as mentioned in the link.

Lol I said nothing for or against gaming on AMD. My rid has a threadripper and two 1070s. My other rig a 4670k and a 1080ti.

I was merely pointing out the humor that msi went on a rant about AMD gaming being sub par after they signed on with GPP then they release a gaming crate with AMD cards.

I use MSI and it has lasted longer than expected for a modest ATX board for socket AM3

I gave MSI a shot way back  when the AMD Phenom II x4 965Black was a thing (AM3 or AM3+). I was blown away by the quality of the board and the price.
Their new stuff is awesome too, I do all my friends builds with MSI gear. Good hardware and great software.
My new system was almost MSI but I hadn't used Asus in a long time so I purchased some highend Asus gear, also awesome.
