AMD's 3rd generation Ryzen "Matisse Refresh" processors surfaced on the Futuremark online database, as dug up by TUM_APISAK, where someone with access to them allegedly posted some performance numbers. Interestingly, the clock-speeds as read by the Futuremark SystemInfo module appear very different from what were previously reported. The 3800XT is shown featuring a 3.80 GHz nominal clock, boosting up to 4.70 GHz, while the 3900XT has a 3.90 GHz nominal clock, boosting up to the same 4.70 GHz as the 3800XT. APISAK reports that the 3800XT scores 25135 points in the FireStrike physics test.

A WCCFTech report presents screenshots of Cinebench R20 single-thread performance scores of the 3900XT, where it is shown beating the i9-10900K (in a single-threaded test). The 3800XT is within striking distance of the i9-10900K in this test, and beats the i7-10700KF. This single-threaded performance figure suggests that AMD's design focus with "Matisse Refresh" has been to shore up single-threaded and less-parallelized application performance, in other words, gaming performance.

AMD's refreshed CPUs seem to be strong performers in my opinion

AMD CPU XT = Intel CPU KS

Old product + better yields/binning = new product + free marketing from reviewers

I am not a fan of the refresh's personally... but I understand why they are done. :-) $$$

Basically it is AMD's way to keep up with Intel's newest releases. AMD doesn't want to lose any CPU marketshare.

3900XT Looks impressive.  If I upgrade, that would be the processor for me.  Still contemplating.  Multi core shows some improvement...but single core...nice!

I still think these are Not production CPUs & Engineering samples do not represent the same performance ... so we will have to wait for launch

Going to punish my 3900X at some point this week or next. Some lucky people manage 4.5GHz at around 1.35v.

Product refreshes are boring. It was boring when Intel did it with the 9900K to the 9900KS and it's just as boring now that AMD is doing it.

I hit 4.5GHZ.... but I backed it down to 4.4 due to the heat.  Was going to burn a hole in my mobo.

And i still got no monies to buy so sad😿

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I've about pulled the trigger on a 3000-series Ryzen a few times in the last month. Gonna hold out for 4000-series though.

Might just go 3300X and go cheap, then drop in a 4000-series in the next year.
