New guy with another questions.

I have everything running good but I noticed another anomaly.

The card was at idle with GPU clock at 135 and temp 32. I turned one monitor to 144hz and the card went to 963 GPU clock and 45 temp. When I turned the monitor back to 60hz the card did not return to idle but stayed at 963 and 45 temp.

Is three a secrete to get the card to return to idle without rebooting?

Thanks

When you reboot you see the clock go back to 135 at 60Hz?

Yes, if I reboot or if I select KBOOST and then deselect KBOOST the GPU clock goes back to 135 and the temp drops back down to normal @35.

Problem is of course you don't want to have to close every thing just to get the GPU back to idle. I haven't found a way to "wake" the card or push it somehow to recognize it can return to idle and shouldn't have to. Seems to me to be a driver issue but wondered if anyone else had found a trick to force it back to idle.

    Thanks

IIRC, setting to 120Hz instead of 144Hz will fix that. From what I understand it is an implementation at the driver level.

IIRC = If I recall correctly.

Did you read what I posted here... http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2449661

You can force the nvidia driver to restart without having to restart windows by using nvidia inspector.

    Ok, downloaded it.

Have not used it yet but I assume all I have to do then is open the link and the card will respond?

The card will respond after you setup nvidia inspector correctly.

To force the nvidia driver to restart without rebooting do the following...

#1 Create a windows batch file.
    - Open notepad.
    - Type "C:\Program Files (x86)\nvidiainspector\nvidiaInspector.exe" -restartdisplaydriver into the notepad.
    - Save the notepad as .bat instead of .txt.

#2 Double click the newly created .bat file to restart the display driver without rebooting.

Note: Make sure nvidia inspector is installed into the correct folder/directory as listed above or it will not work.

Ok, stick with me but I'm having a little bit of a problem getting this to work.

I downloaded and extracted the files and saved them in the (x86) programs files. There were four entries.

I tried creating a .bat file but when I Save As I'm only given the option to save as a txt or All Files. I did all files and it looked like it executed but did not work.
I saved the file on the desktop and I just want to be sure what should be in the notpad.

I tried these entries but if you can just type what needs to be inserted in the notpad I can cut and paste.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\nvidiainspector\nvidiaInspector.exe
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\nvidiainspector\nvidiaInspector.exe"
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\nvidiainspector\nvidiaInspector.exe" -restartdisplaydriver

Can't get it to work for some reason.

Extract the contents of the nvidiaInspector.zip to C:\ and use C:\nvidiaInspector.exe -restartdisplaydriver in the .bat file command line..Or maybe better, create a folder on C:\ named nvidiaInspector and extract the contents of the nvidiaInspector.zip to it and use C:\nvidiaInspector\nvidiaInspector.exe -restartdisplaydriver in the .bat file command line..Sometimes things choke when you put them in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder and you need to select another location.

After you're finished with your soon-to-be .bat file in Notepad, click File (top left), then Save As..., then type in a .bat File name for it such as NVIDIA Reset.bat (or Whatever.bat) and where to save it to, at which time it should be converted to a .bat file..For convenience, you can put the .bat file in the nvidiaInspector folder you created if you want to..Then click/double-click it or right-click and Open it and you may need to Run as administrator

Maybe you have two folders inside the original folder?

Thanks Sajin and bob16314 for all the info. Unfortunately it just doesn't want to work on my system. I tried the command line with and without the " " but it made no difference.

I made a new folder in C, extracted the Nvidia Inspector zip file into it and the four extracted files loaded. I then created a .bat with the command line and saved it on the desktop.

I tried executing the bat file using a left click, right click-open, and right click run as administrator and all failed to work. I snipped various folders, but wasn't able to insert them.

    Thanks again

    bob16314,

Thanks for the file. It is installed as instructed but this card will not gear down. I tried running as admin, right click and everything else, but it doesn't work.

Not sure if it is a diiference in installed drivers but I have 361.75.
