Will these attach if I decide to upgrade to an EK/Hydrocopper waterblock in the future? Edit: I ordered one anyways. I'd just like to know whether or not I would be required to get an EK backplate. My 580 backplates were incompatible with any waterblock thanks to the curved edge that wrapped around the pcb. I was just wondering if there are any possible compatibility issues. I suppose on some level I'll find out soon enough anyways.

Not installed yet. I'm off work this Friday, so it will be installed then. After I run a few errands in the morning. I will probably also reinstall Windows 7, as my computer is running sluggish lately. I also want to retim my CPU. The temps have been a little higher than normal lately.

How about more of those Classified graphics cards to put the backplates on? What is the bottleneck on those things? Presently (6:20AM EST), there are three (3) out of four (4) EVGA GTX 980s available on Newegg. The fourth one in the list, sadly, is not available. Yes, it's the Classified.

I can't believe I missed the boat on these. They must have only made a hundred or so being sold out so fast. CS said no eta on a new batch. I guess its another thing I can add to my ocd list.
I saw the tweet and they were in stock, but my 980 SC ACX2.0 is backorder with no ETA. I only got the 980 because of a great deal i jumped on so I didn't want to get a backplate for a 980, run into the situation of my 980 being stuck in limbo forever as I would just switch to a 970 then have a useless backplate.

Don't 04G-P4-2982-KR and 2980 already have the nvidia default backplates?
My "04G-P4-2982-KR" came with the standard Nvidia backplate. I think they are saying the EVGA backplate that they are selling lowers the temps further. I guess further clarification would be nice though.

I think this is thermal tape, therefore the protective film needs to be removed so it can make contact with GPU for proper heat transfer

Someone please correct me before the damage is done.
That is a good question, as I am going to be putting my Classified backplate on tomorrow. I'm also going to confess this is the first backplate I have ever bought, and installed. :P I'm going to try to get someone over here to tell us the answer. Also, later, pics of my backplate that arrived today, that is still in the sealed box.
