970 temperature and power link

I have the EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+. In EVGA Precision, is it safe to unlink the Power Target from the GPU Temp Target like this:  
It was originally set to 100% Power Target and 80 C Temp Target but I lowered it to 75 C and unlinked them. I was just wondering if this is safe to do.
