I didn't put the trigger when i first saw some gtx 970 on newegg, amazon and TD, since I was waiting for the ACX 2.0 FTW. Some ACX 2.0 versions are available on neweggs already (not the FTW though). but then it seems that the prices of all 970 cards on newegg just increased (not just evga).

e.g. 04G-P4-2975-KR is $389.99 instead of 359.99
04G-P4-0974-KR is $359.99 instead of 339.99 (i am pretty sure that price was 339.99 this morning, with $10 rebate).
It happens to MSI and some other cards also. At this rate, the FTW version is probably gonna be $400+ when coming out.

I wonder if there is gonna be a general price increase across all retailers.

Prices fluctuate, supply and demand etc etc. Also, "special" or overclocked versions do get a price increase. Check Slickdeals or other similar sites to see if you can get a better price, maybe.

    Demand is high...

Back in the day when Titan Black was introduced, Superclocked version was selling for $1020 for about half a day. Then it went up to $1100 and stays there ever since.

    So it goes.

Upd: Entire newegg's stock is pretty much sold out! Those cards are selling like hot pies!

When demand is high Newegg tends to raise their prices. They have been known to raise their prices above MSRP also during this type of demand.
