The 40 available pci express lanes should get rid of any bottlenecks. I don't see any mention of an M.2 port or sata express though.

Hmmmmm, haven't seen it mentioned but here are some questions:

A. EVGA mentions "solid state" capacitors...........details about em? 10k caps? 12k caps? Who makes em? When I see "Vague" in description on the type and ratings of the caps, its normally a sign that they are average at best.

B. 6 phase power: Again, what type of chokes are used and their ratings, who makes the controller etc? NEXFETS? POWERIR? etc etc etc?

C. On the X99 Micro board, it just says it has an M.2 "Slot E" expansion slot. Is this an M.2 x3 or x4 slot? Whats the bandwidth exactly? What does it share its lane bandwidth with?

D. The Audio: Yep we know it has an ALC 1150 audio chip.........again how bout the specs on it? Caps used? amp used? Isolated or shielded? Again more detail info needed.

E. How much gold is used in the CPU/PCIE connectors? 15uF? Less? More?

F. Built in Wifi AC?

G. Anything unique about the board to add that may not be mentioned in advertising on its build quality, features etc?

I can't wait to see where the next leap, DDR4, will take computing as a whole. I have been looking forward to upgrading my computer since DDR4 was announced, but the price ranges have always been an issue, especially for us for students! Since this is also probably going to be the last iteration of DDRx memory I wouldn't mind the opportunity to win one of these bad boys =P

great to see the ability to add more memory.
Just see if the SSD's would not become the next bottleneck

Does the X99 Classified have M.2 ports that are faster than 10Gb/s?

I would love to win one of these packages!!

These mobos are solid. Hoping a Mini-ITX version hits the shelves soon. I'm in the market for a refresh. Need something for a 1155 build, may go "big" on a Matx but don't want to unless I have to.

Mini-ITX, it's how I roll.

Love the right angled power and fan headers on the FTW and Classy boards, wish all MOBO's came that way as it cleans up the build considerably, also good on EVGA for not including WiFi on the FTW and Classy as my belief is they don't belong on these type of boards.  Would have been nice for the Micro to include WiFi tho.

Also how come no SATA Express ports? not that it is that critical since m.2 ports are included.

I hope that broadwell e will work on x99. Start with a 5820 and then throw a broadwell in it later will be sweet. It works for the z97. This is if Intel dosent do anything funny. ;)

I would think that ITX is  possible but there would be a lot of changes on the motherboard and sacrifices. mATX is good tho, and evga price for micro is pretty decent. Maybe in the next 9months, i will be able to buy a board, cheapest CPU 5820k, and ram, lol. Going EVGA BUILD! too long tho

Trelor
While most others are posting positive and raving things about the new EVGA boards I will choose to focus on the negatives.  The one HUGE let down with all of these boards is there is zero support for SATA Express.  While the technology is still very new EVGA kind of shot themselves in the foot with this one.  99% of other manufactures have SATA Express support on their boards though there is nothing to utilize the technology at least it is there for when we can use it.  The next item is the Core Surround audio, again this is a "Flagship" only feature, if you're willing to shell out top dollar for a board, not saying that $299.99 or $249.99 is pocket change.  The final thing is M.2 support.  The only board that supports full length M.2 is the "Flagship" motherboard.  I feel scammed if I go out and spend $299.99 on the FTW model and the the FTL features.  This setup of the boards is a smack in the face to the people who buy the FTW model.  You can get the Micro model and get M.2 Slot E Support for $249.99 whereas spending the extra $$$ on the FTW nets you no M.2 support, not even Slot E!  No SATA Express, M.2, and No Core Surround Audio on the "FTW".  Don't get me wrong these boards are still an upgrade from the X79 Dark which I own and I would happily take anything to get off the terrible X79 Platform where that is even more featureless than the base X99, the Micro.

I thought SATA Express and M.2 were suited more for small form factors, laptops or M-ATX.  I don't think ATX/E-ATX mobos have a need for the new connections since there is plenty of space in a tower for a 2.5" SSD and if extra bandwidth is needed then I could install a PCIe SSD.
I was actually thinking it is better to NOT have SATA Express personally, it is just using up PCIe lanes which I could be using for something other than storage.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, since I haven't used either, this is just my current understanding.

I've been building my own systems for a long time. I can remember when you might be able to add 1 gig of memory and having more than one BIOS was not even thought of back then. It was not even too long ago when we all dreamed for native SLI options, but 4-Way SLI is awesome.

I think that EVGA experience to build stunning performance motherboards can give us enormous satisfaction when we use them.

#Trelor You are absolutely right, but ive a 350d case, soo going for atx board is really not a choice. And EVGA's micro is the cheapest board x99 out there for being mATX. Im just glad that there is an M.2 support,  but since its expensive, i dont see myself using it for a while. and audio, um i dont just have realtek audio(LOL)

I have had the X58 FTW and the Z87 FTW.  They have been great boards.  I'm sure the X99 FTW is in the same vein as its predecessors.  I want one.

I like how the audio is offloaded on the classified.  I've been waiting for a major jump to upgrade and this gen is certainly just that!
