Once I get off of work I will go home and try for 5Ghz, I'm at a stable 4.8Ghz right now but my VCore is at 1.4v.... Temps are starting to hit 80 C.... The only way I'm doing this is if I get something cool to put in my signature like all the X58 guys do!

Looks good.
I suggest having people run the AVX version of LinX since the normal LinX doens't cut it anymore. The normal LinX doesn't fully stress the SB platform like Prime95 or LinX with AVX.

indeed good! :).. as i said in OP, all the credit goes to Keith22 :)..

btw, to run AVX Linx requires service pack 1 for windows 7 and i don't got that, so aint easy for me.. but if you have service pack 1 it would be the best indeed ! :) but 15 min og normal linx should be fine at least for now.. but maybe we should upgrade at some point! :)

It can't be done with the tech now. You would need DICE or LN2.
 
It would also strain the CPU incredibly.

yea and even with LN2 you would still put so much current in the CPU that there are big odds that the CPU will break.. Sandy bridge is known for that it doesn't handle that high current as well as other chipsets :P.. i for one wouldn't go above 1.6 volts!

maybe.. depends on your batch and motherboard :).. some motherboards and cpu's require more power than others to run stable :)..

It can't be done with the tech now. You would need DICE or LN2.

Not just that, the real problem is SB chips being so limited. (Multi limited)
 
Some chips can do a 45x multi, and they just will not go over that. Other's can do 59x multi to break 6Ghz.

i think alot of people are finding the SB chips are maxing out around 5.5-5.6 ive seen people paying a premium for a 57-58 chip.

bf3 coming out and you dont want new pc. you put so much work into it!

Just for laughs I just bumped it up to 5.2GHz using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. Its running at 4.09 with no load and 5.2 when I start an antivirus scan. Note the core temp is only 32C. This is untested but appears to be stable.
