Hmm nice scores guys, so who will be the first to break the 6Ghz + barrier with Air cooling xD I mean 5Ghz is possible with a good Noctua or Thermalright air cooler, makes me wonder which CPU will do 6Ghz on air xD Which I suppose is the next big aim for you Overclockers?

It can't be done with the tech now. You would need DICE or LN2. It would also strain the CPU incredibly.

Sandy bridge is known for that it doesn't handle that high current as well as other chipsets :P.. i for one wouldn't go above 1.6 volts!

427jmf Hi All Here's my try at 5 Ghz, hope everything is in order. For cooling I have a Cooler Master 212 Plus with push pull fans. Batch # L104A617 http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/829/5000better.png/ 427jmf can you share your asus turbo V settings with us ? ( everything from block to voltages would make me very happy )

(Multi limited) Some chips can do a 45x multi, and they just will not go over that. Other's can do 59x multi to break 6Ghz.

i think alot of people are finding the SB chips are maxing out around 5.5-5.6 ive seen people paying a premium for a 57-58 chip.

Just for laughs I just bumped it up to 5.2GHz using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. Its running at 4.09 with no load and 5.2 when I start an antivirus scan. Note the core temp is only 32C. This is untested but appears to be stable. I got family stuff to do now with my son but maybe I'll bench it later.
