Well, I bought my 1080Ti FTW3 for $858. The 1080Ti was $699.
 
The 2080Ti FE was $1,199. 2080Ti FTW3 is $1,349.
 
That's 81% and 88% respectively.
 
3090FE is $1,499. I would expect the 3090 FTW to be $1,699 - $1,749.
 
IMHO.

Considering the 3090 is due to be the "Titan Replacement" I wouldn't expect it to be below 1600.

I was under the assumption that the FTW model is usually $100 to $150 over FE MSRP, no? At least it seems to be the case when looking at the 2080 Ti prices on EVGA Store...

The FTW3 "Ultra" 2080 Ti was $1499.99. Founders edition was $1199.99 so that'd be $300 over the FE. Prior to the 2000 series, top end cards were not that much more over the reference cards. For example, the reference 1080 Ti was $699 with the EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 being only $779. A mere $80. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we're going to return to that.

Doesn't the price also depends on how well the chips are and how overclockable they are? As far as I remember 2080 Super series didn't get much overclock and they were reasonably priced.
 
It seems like Asus's Strix only got +30 Boost Clock, according to their own specifications (Techpowerup says default is 1695). Which is the same amount that EVGA's 2080 Super's got. So if they're not overclockable, I wouldn't expect them to be priced +$200-300 more then FE actually, that would be interesting.

That's not the FTW3, it says iCX3 with the FTW3 pictured @ $1399 British Pounds. There is no way that FTW3 will sell at FE MSRP. FTW3 price will be more in line with the Asus Strix ($1569 British Pounds or close to $1700 US) listed there. That ICX3 is clearly a place-holder and overclockers.uk is waiting for more info from EVGA.

I think Asus is incredibly overpriced for what its offering this generation. If the written value there is correct for Boost Clock, it's only +30 over FE. Cooling solutions for FE this generation seems innovative enough, but they keep charging premium tax while offering basically nothing new over FE.
 
I only choose EVGA for their spectacular quality, service and warranty; but I have to say if FTW3 Ultra is gonna offer +30 Boost Clock, I wouldn't pay that $1699 for iCX sensors and couple additional stuff only. Instead would get the XC3 3090 and put a Hybrid Kit in the future as 3090 is overpowered enough.

Legit curious at why you need 3 3090

 
I have 3 gaming computers and 2 video editing computers in the house with another used by my Son in a different part of the state. So that is 3 GTX 1080 tis and 3 RTX 2080 tis.
I am replacing all my 16:9 monitors with LG OLED TVs so that is 3 cards with HDMI 2.1. The 2080 tis will replace the 1080 tis.
It is the 3090s over the 3080s because of the vram. I need more than 11 and I am not doing 10.
 
A 3080 ti with about 16gbs vram would have been better for me but it did not materialize.

Well the PCB and cooler by Nvidia is pretty complicated as well, not as basic as the usual reference cooler/pcb. If evga is charging €200+ for a different cooler, ICX3 and a custom pcb I guess I will be looking at the XC3 instead.

I bought my 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra from the EVGA store for $1350. I think that over time it did go up in price, but at launch it was $1350. So at launch it was $150 over the FE price.
 
Another thing to consider is that the FE cooler is much more innovative this time around which means it's much more expensive. Hopefully, that means AIB cards aren't going to be too much over what the FE is going to be. TBH, I'd be pretty happy with a $150-200 over the FE price for the 3090 FTW3 ultra.

Yeah it would make no sense for evga to launch the 3080 $300 over MSRP for the founders. The founders seems to have a way bigger, harder to produce cooler and also the pcb is anything but basic! I really hope with a $699 MSRP I can buy a FTW3 for around €850, but I'm afraid it's wishful thinking, specially right after launch. I might wait a bit since I need it november 19th for Cyberpunk :)
