I just picked up a 3090 and had popped it onto my motherboard and plugged all the power connectors in and low-n-behold I have a 4th red LED on and cannot find any details in regards to what this LED is for. The 3 leds for power are not on so that would mean power is fine to the card. However, I cannot find any details what the 4th led would be? It's closest to the I/O plate past the PCIE power ports. Fans engage for a few seconds and spin down right away once powering the PC up. Tested another card in the same PCI-E slot and no issues, 2070 Super.

Anyone shine some light on what this could be?

Are you sure that the first pci-e power connector (the yellow one all the way to the right) are in fact GPU power connectors? That first power connector doesn’t look right to me. Looks like it has a jumper on it the way the picture looks anyway.

Theres a Dual 6+2 connector and a single 8 pin connector. The first cable is in fact just a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter. However I have tried 2 different PC's with 2 different PSU's and had all independent power connectors on the first PC, this was a pic on the 2nd pc which currently has a 3090 in it working just fine. The 1st PC has all single 6+2 cables which also displayed the same LED. No RGB turns on and as I mentioned the fans kick in for about half a second and turn off. The PC continues to operate but I never did check if it was POSTing as I don't have a proper video cable to the Mobo.

Bump, no one knows anything about this 4th led diagnostic? I have tried a few other things with my working 3090 ftw such as supplying it with power but not having it connected to the PCI-E lane, this does not turn on the 4th LED. I have also tried switching the Bios switch and no changes. Anyone?

Man, I’m not sure what it is then if you have it all plugged in correctly. Only time I seen my lights on, and it was 3 or 4 of them was when my bios was updated by EVGA PX1. All the lights were red with all 3 fans spinning 100%, but after the update all went back to normal on my 3080ti FTW

Might have something to do with the PCI-E slot on the mobo. I have bench tested this unit with a brand new EVGA 850W G+ with all individual cables. Rested the card on anti-static mat and powered up with PSU tester. Fans 1 & 2 spin up to full speed and fan 3 does not move. This is not connected to anything on the PCIE lanes and I have NO LED's active.  I have put the card back into the PC with the power coming from the 850W and as soon as it is plugged into a PCI-E slot the light engages. I've tried 4 slots on 2 different motherboards and all result in same red LED engaging past the PCIE power slots. No RGB lights and no fans activate.  DOA! RMA will begin tomorrow, what a crummy thing to happen!
