3080 TI FTW3 Crashing under load. Need a new PSU?

I run a new 850w evga gold psu.
My ftw3 3080 runs just fine it's when I put my ftw3 3080ti in that it turns off.



Download the stress test program OCCT and run the Power stress test. It will put a lot of load on your CPU and GPU at the same time. When I had my previous Seasonic x850 850w PSU the pc would reboot.

Wow...I had not run that before.  My 5.1ghz 9900k and 3080ti pulled close to 850w according to my killawatt.

That's total system but when gaming @1440 I'm pulling 630

If it works outside the case, but not inside the case, can you run an equivalent load inside the case and tell us what the temperatures of your cpu and gpu are?

I ask because I have an 11900k that was totally stable and not terribly hot at 5.3GHz all-core... While I had a hybrid 2080 Super exhausting its heat out the back. I put a 3080 ti hybrid intaking the radiator (which I've changed since) and it would hard crash during Bf5 because the cpu got WAY too hot while loading maps between rounds (the gpu is still rendering at that time and the heat is high). The 3080 ti produces a ton of heat and depending on your case's airflow situation could be causing the cpu (or something else) to overheat. I had to completely reconfigure the airflow in my case to make it all work (described in the link in my signature if you want to see it lol). Just an idea to consider.

Use MSI afterburner and lower the clock speed(-100)a little and see if it stabilizes.   If that works put it back where it was and raise the Voltage limit and see if that fixes it.  If it still crashes but is stable at a lower clock speed best thing i can tell you is leave it underclocked a little.

Absolutely NEVER use other brand replacement cables for most PSUs, use only the  ones that came with your specific PSU or replacement ones for your specific PSU from the manufacturer. Not even cables that come from the same company for a different model unless recommended by the manufacturer. In fact most PSU companies will tell you that in the manual.
