3080 FTW3 - red ‘clown lips’ fixed? Replacements?

I just got approved for my step 5 process of Step Up! I built my first PC back in September and I’m partial to the aesthetics of the build and particularly don’t want the red accents on the shroud and backplate to be visible...

I know EVGA noticed the vocalization of this issue with consumers and suggested a release of different colors to come so I’m just curious what I should expect when my card ships and if there is in fact any news on this issue? I’ve been a little under a rock since the fall now that I have my pc built. Thanks!!

    Does the 'red 'clown lips'' make a difference in performance?

    No but when coming from the 2000 series and how RGB should be the only thing controllable by color for the consumer, considering most enthusiasts my do a showcase build based on looks, it would be the right thing to do.it’s the most visible part in a build next to the cooler.

    Oh absolutely, very grateful as I’ve waited since my October submission to receive this! I just remember upon release there was an image of replacement colors and since it’s been 4 months I was wondering if that came to fruition or if there was some sort of revision to the aesthetics. I’m not cancelling my step up if there was no change haha

    What date did you sign up for the step-up? Just wondering as my friend signed up early-mid October for the U.S.

    Thanks for getting back about that.. well I'm glad I didn't just tell my friend EVGA is finally up to October on the step up program lol. I wanted to finally have some good news for the poor guy. Bright side is at least he has his old 1080 ti to hold him over.

    They are not shipping with the red lips anymore. It's only black ones as far as I'm aware.

    Did they ever release the shroud covers for the poor folks that have the red shroud?
