Hi guys, I received my 3080 today and I think I am having an issue. The card works perfectly fine when on, and both BIOS work fine. Once I installed Precision it had asked me to update the firmware which it did. I decided to turn off the PC since I had to work (from home) and it stayed with 4 red lights on the power connectors. I spoke to Support and they sent me both of the latest BIOS so I can install them again (normal-OC). I did that and the problem persists. Now the PC boots fine when I try to boot, it just stays like that after I turn it off.
 
The PSU that I am using is an EVGA GQ 750w Gold. It came with 2 separate 8 Pin cables and 2 of the "splitter" versions. I have it set up with 3 separate cables, 1 being the "splitter" version but I zip tied the extra end since its not needed. I tried with 2 cables as well (1 8 Pin, and using both ends of the splitter version) and it does the same thing. I previously had a 2080ti, and this never happened.

Possible power feedback?

Turn off the PSU, or try unplugging the monitor cable (assuming it's DP?). If the DP cable removal stops it, as per Sajin, buy a certified DP cable.

I just tried removing the cable while the PC was off and the lights remained on. The DP cable that I use came with my LG monitor.
 
The odd thing is that when I turn it off, my X570 Taichi keeps the 2 buttons (Reset and Power) on as well. This never happened before, and it was not happening in the morning before I changed GPUs.
 
Once I turn on the PC its like if nothing ever happened, runs fine, overclocking works fine, no crashes while playing Cyberpunk for example.

It's likely from the PSU then. Got a power switch on it? Does it have different modes? Green (or eco) and normal?

Well I honestly have no idea what it is. If it happens to be the PSU, I bought it 3 years ago so technically I should have 2 years left on the warranty. It would just seem weird how it never caused issues on my 5700XT and then 2080ti, thought neither of those cards needed 3 8pin cables (if that matters anyways). Im clueless as of what to do.

Those other cards likely didn't have LEDs at the power connectors like the 30 series cards do.
 
If the card works fine other than those LEDs lighting up when the PC is off, and if really bothers you - just turn off the PSU.
 
You might also try disconnecting power to the motherboard to see if it's coming from there as well. If that stops it, maybe there's some setting in the motherboard BIOS that causes it.

I had a 2080ti Strix, it does have the white LEDs where the power connectors go.

I did try disconnecting power to the mothet and the GPU stays that way anyways.

Its not that it bothers me, based on what I read, and on my friend who also has one, this is not normal. The last thing I want is to end up killing the GPU because I decide to ignore it.

I spoke to them today, made me re install both BIOS versions Normal/OC, I replied letting them know nothing worked. Now I am just waiting for a reply. I made this post to see if anyone had an idea what it could be while I wait. Thanks for the suggestions btw.

Hmm maybe a grounding issue <plug in somewhere else if possible.///ext cord/// Like a kitchen or bathroom that has gfi .Just a long shot but i'm curious.

Ive tried a different socket and nothing :/
 
The only thing that worries me is the 8+8 cable that I am using since it has 1 end going nowhere, but then again almost no power supply gives you 3 single 8 pin PCIE cables. Most bring 2 single 8 pin cables and 2 of the 8+8 versions.

Maybe try to update your motherboard's bios. Worth a try if you know how to do it, if not, do not attempt it.

Yeah I update the BIOS most of the time, I am actually on version 3.80 from the X570 Taichi which is a few days old. I tried going back to 3.61 (previous version that supports my 5800X) and it did it as well.

Well since Support has not gotten back to me (probably busy with holidays and stuff), I ended buying a new PSU today. Mine was only 3 years old but wanted to see if the problem was the PSU or the card. Well with my new RM850x the problem still persists. So the problem seems to be the card at this point.

During an RMI like this beings the card is still in operation.. Do they send you a new card then you send the needing fixed one back? Say someone doesn't have an extra card while shipping that one back. Are they simple out of a pc till the new card arrives months later lol. Or does RMA grab first priority? I am a 3080Ultra owner and those are legit questions. Dont get me wrong my card runs great but need to know for the vault.

Well even if I set the mobo to Deep Sleep which powers down the whole board, no matter what, the GPU keeps the 4 red LEDs.

Does your motherboard have an ErP mode option in its BIOS?  If so, is it enabled?  If ErP was disabled, and you enable ErP, this problem should go away ... I think.

I'm also having the (4 Error Red Led) on my GPU: All I did was switched over from one case to the new case. 

You should start your own thread.  Your issue is different than this user's issue.
