I ran DDU in Safe Mode to remove the previous driver, then restarted and installed the current latest version (v531.68 as of making this thread). But now in the NVIDIA Control Panel, it only shows Configure Surround, PhysX without SLI options. It was just there when I had the previous driver installed. I then read on the release notes that:

Implicit SLI Disabled on NVIDIA Ampere GPUs

Implicit SLI, where the driver makes assumptions with application profiles to achieve GPU scaling, is disabled on NVIDIA Ampere GPUs. Explicit SLI is still supported, where the application knows the SLI state and uses extensions (such as DirectX 12 linked nodes, Vulkan device groups, or OpenGL multicast extensions) to issue commands to each device in the SLI group.

Is this the reason why it's no longer in the NVIDIA Control Panel?

Gaming developers aren't going to support building game SLI profiles either.

I'm aware of NVIDIA ending SLI driver profiles and according to this https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5082 that for "RTX 3090 and future SLI-capable GPUs, SLI will only be supported when implemented natively within the game."

What I really wanted to know was, is the missing SLI Configuration section in the NVIDIA Control Panel perfectly fine and now will just automatically enable it when something I run supports it? Because before I installed the latest driver, the SLI Configuration setion was still there.

I don't know. I don't have 2 cards to test. What I do know is that NVIDIA announced in 2020 that they are ending official support, and now more than 2 years later, it wouldn't surprise me if a driver finally came out without that option.

Okay, fair enough. Hopefully someone with an SLI setup on RTX 3090(Ti)/4090 that comes across this thread can confirm this to be the case or not.

The “Implicit SLI Disabled on NVIDIA Ampere GPUs” has been in the release notes for awhile now. Which driver did you update from?

The one just previous, v531.61, and also the one before that, v531.41 which was when I got my rig up and running with both of my 3090 KINGPIN's with Hydro Copper blocks after spending about a week and a half trying to figure out how to fix the leaking issue with one of them. Before that, I was still running both of my 1080 Ti KINGPIN's with Bitspower blocks.

When I installed the previous driver, after removing the current one with DDU, the SLI Configuration section was also missing now.

So, I ran DDU again in safe mode, but this time selected to Clean and Shutdown instead of Clean and Restart, completely powered off my system by switching my PSU off, re-installed the current driver and now the SLI Configuration section is back in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Oh i saw this post yesterday. Just wanted to post picture with ncp with sli option for my 2x3090s. But it seems you manage to fix your problem.
