And for the 2nd night in a row, *AFTER* I put in credit card information and clicked "Continue", it kills the order "due to insufficient stock". This isn't how it should work; don't make it a race to check out as fast as possible.
I think I might go get a Gigabyte. I'm really tired of this nonsense.

This practice is shameful. Hold the order in the cart for 10 minutes or something, don't cancel the order after folks are in the checkout process.

This practice is shameful. Hold the order in the cart for 10 minutes or something, don't cancel the order after folks are in the checkout process.
Sorry buddy but this is how most retailers do it. off the top of my head I think Dell Outlet is the only retailer that ive ever seen hold items in your cart.

What a trip, the second I went from 1 refresh to the next it said in cart, hit option to buy and they were gone. Holy smokes, its like someone is playing a game with us and then just sitting back and laughing.
I was shaking with excitement cause I knew I was finally gonna get one. Been hitting refresh for the last hour every few seconds. Didn't happen, removed from cart due to stock selling out in a few seconds.
Freaking brutal!!!

I had chances for both EVGA and neweggs just now... I just couldn't pull the trigger as BH has promised me to ship one tomorrow....
only time will tell... probably the biggest mistake I made lol..
If not I am going to shoot for Friday as Jacob says..

This is getting ridiculous. I don't mind missing stuff because I was late but having it literally ripped from the cart is too much. If you have so few cards that they are gone in less than a minute and people with them in the cart hitting the last button to buy are getting them ripped from the cart you really should just wait till you actually have stock.

I was one of the last B&H preorders and I had no promise of getting a card from them out of this shipment. I lost out on one of the ones that went live last night because of Chase fraud prevention (stock was gone by the time I got off the phone with them. Managed to get one these today. I passed on a XC Ultra that I could have picked up in person at best buy this past weekend and had been kicking myself for it. Getting the 2080ti model you want is one of the biggest pain in the asses I've dealt with as far as online ordering goes.

I went to my order page from my account and there was a modify/cancel button. Clicked that, selected backordered as the reason for the cancel and received confirmation within 5 minutes. I did this maybe 10 minutes ago so it should be ok.

Funny you say that, I was also ready to order the FTW3 last night and Capital One had a fraud alert text that I quickly replied YES to but after my card failed and re-reading the message they wanted a CONFIRM and not a yes.. I lost out on that.. But hey, I was able to order one tonight!! Cheers!

No, most retailers don't take your credit card info, then say "sorry just kidding". That's not how a good business operates. Like jhod10 said, why the heck can't we just preorder? I'd rather wait 8 weeks than waste all this time and ultimately just stray away from EVGA. Really poorly handled IMO.
