Hello,
So my 2080 XC started having "Fan 2" (the one right over the GPU die) start spinning at max all the time.
I had precision x1 installed but the OC scan feature wasn't working. So I uninstalled the program, and installed MSI Afterburner.
The OC Scan feature worked and then I setup a custom fan curve and everything was fine for a couple days, but then this issue started.
Things I've done to try and fix this issue:
0) I triple checked all MSI afterburner settings and everything was fine.
1) Deleted MSI Afterburner and re-installed precision x1.
2) Power flush the system
3) Other PCIE Slot
4) Reseat the fan connector
5) Reflash card bios (found link in these forums)
6) Reflash card MCU firmware (found link in these forums)
7) Use DDU to clear driver displays and then Reinstall display drivers
8) Update motherboard drivers
9) reapply thermal paste
10) double check pcie slot and power connections
Here are my specs:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: i7-9700K
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi
PSU: Corsair 850W 80+ Gold
RAM: Corsair Vengance RGB 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo SSD 1TB
GPU: EVGA 2080 XC Gaming (latest bios and drivers)
Just want to see if anyone has any other suggestions. I've submitted a ticket with tech support. Thanks in advance.
