I've had it only for a few months and it's extremely disappointing overclock wise. In 3dmark Timespy, I can only get up to +100 Core Clock without crashing. That number would be fine, only starting up any games with +100 makes it crash almost immediately. In some games, I can't even do +50 without crashing within a few seconds (Metro Exodus for example). It seems to be limited to RTX games like Modern Warfare, Control, and Metro Exodus and it happens with or without ray tracing on. It sucks because that little extra bit of performance would really help in demanding single player games where I'm trying to stay above 60 fps. The cutoff point seems to be around 2000 mhz. I've seen people get much higher than this so I don't know what's wrong. Did I just get a bad card? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers multiple times. The OC scanner in both Precision X1 and Afterburner gives me numbers in the single digits :\

Hello,
Unfortunately overclockability on a card is a bit of a lottery. Overall i think most cards can overclock to a certain degree but some cards may not be able to overclock at all. Nothing is wrong with your card. Just some cards do better than others. Its the nature of the silicon lottery. Also keep in mind that your FTW3 card is already overclocked out of the box pretty high so you may be pushing it past what it can be at stable.

Could it be a problem with my power supply? I have a 550W Gold and EVGA recommends 650 minimum. Maybe the card can't draw enough power?

Your FTW card is already overclocked extremely high. If you get any higher clocks that is luck. If you want higher performance then you need to look at an overclocked RTX 2080 video card or higher. I think your specs are ok but if it were me in your shoes I would have opted for a higher wattage PSU.

That will be my next upgrade
Do you think it could be affecting my overclocking limits?

All depends what you're pulling from the wall. Do you have this laying around? I mean you're probably ok as long as you're not OCing both CPU and GPU sky high but yeah, I also agree on possibly uping the PSU even thought the one you're currently using is a nice one from Seasonic. I'd stick with that brand on your next upgrade.

Bumping this because I want to know if using 2 dedicated PCIe power cables instead of one split one could potentially improve oc performance? I've been using one pigtail cable this entire time but I just read that its recommended to use 2. Still using the 550w Seasonic.
