Just picked up a 2070 super yesterday and I'm having some issues with the fans or precision x. As you can see even with the fans set to 0% fan 1 is still running at 40%. I'm also having really strange issues when using fan curves, both custom and the presets. The fans will constantly ramp up and down irreverent to the actual curve going from 40% to 80% and back and forth. Also, if I set a curve that for example has the fans at 0% until 50 degrees the fans won't actually ever stop spinning. Are all of these issues related to precision X or should I consider returning my card for a new one before the return period is up? EDIT Image Link : imgur . com /a/kf1SQgN

You can't post URL links yet so remove the http or https from the web address and space out the URL a bit.

That card has a Dual-BIOS..Slide the little BIOS switch located on the side near the PCIe power connectors to the other position and then restart (not shut down and start up) your PC..The Normal position is toward the rear of the card and the OC position is toward the front. The OC position disables zero-fan operation for the GPU Fan (Fan 1). I would also unlink the fans in Precision for now, that the little 'chain link' button in the Fan Speed box and definitely click to light up the 'Auto' button or the fans will be in a fixed/manual mode..See how that rolls.

Sure thing. And just to make it a little easier for others, here is the link to your photo since you can't post full links until you have 10+ forum posts.

Make sure Windows Fast Startup is turned off when installing New hardware You might have to disable Fast Boot in BIOS .. for one restart for the New card to get registered by the MB

By the way, Windows Fast Startup only affects things on a cold boot, not a restart.. Fast Boot in the BIOS skips detection of some devices.

I've seen Windows - ignore new ---> software drivers, hardware & firmware updates ... unless you pull the plug from the wall to Force a "True Cold boot" When you get unexpected results .. I've learned to turn those 2 things Off ... & pull the plug .. hold start button 20 sec ... then Boot --> usually the issue is resolved I turn it off ... your mileage may vary I also go offline & kill all background apps .. including security software ... to make upgrades & updates go smooth as possible Windows Central - How to disable Windows 10 fast startup (and why you'd want to)

Sorry I havent been active in this thread, I've been busy the past few days. Thanks for all your replies. I still haven't had a chance to try your suggestions, but when I have time I will give them a shot and post again. Although it seems my fan issues have been mostly resolved, but I'm still having an odd issue with one fan. Even though I have my fan curve set like this imgur . com /a/ OWfGtxL fan 1 will randomly ramp up to 40% and stay there until I reapply the fan curve. All of the other fans will stay at 0% as they should. It should be noted that fan 1 will stay at exactly 40% unless the gpu temp goes high enough for the fan curve I set to actually come into effect (over 40 degrees). It will go back down to 0% once I reapply the fan curve.
