So im gonna be gaming on 1080p for quite a while since i got this monitor a few months ago, is a 20 series even worth it or will I be just fine with a 1660 super(i am planning on buying). Im finding the 1660s easier to find now closer to msrp than any rtx card at the moment. I hope to have my pc built by august bc thats when I start college. So im just wondering if it is even worth it to try to wait to get a 20 series or 30 series card if I am just gonna be gaming 1080p. And also lets say i were to jump up to 1440p would the 1660s still hold strong or should i just get a 20/30 series to be safe even though I would have to wait longer and pay more?

A 1660 Super would for sure be good enough for 1080p gaming. As for 1440p, it would depend on what sorts of games you would be playing. Lighter, less GPU intensive games such as Valorant should have a steady 60fps experience at max settings, but games that push the GPU harder will not be as forgiving. I think that a 1660 Super would be enough for your needs if you can find it near enough to MSRP.

It's a-me, NonoTCC! I know a fair bit about computers and Nintendo gaming. If you have a question, send me a message!

I hada 1060 and it wasnt doing right in Apex legends. so I picked up a 1660s at 350$ a month ago.. didnt want to spend too much.. apex runs awesome at regular HD, I dont miss often now.. besides Apex, every other game i use HD+ =1440, and get good performance , way better than my 1060

get the best card you can get in your budget doesnt matter 1080p or 1440 i would think you would want the best you could afford and 1080p is still awsome i just went from acer 27 inch to 1440p 144 refresh to the alienware 24 inch 1080p 240 refresh and i love it . i think its all a matter of personal prefrence.

The 1660 super specs are more than adequate for 1440p & have:
240 Hz Max Refresh RateMax Digital: 7680x4320
So you will be fine with any version of the 1660 super.
You DO NOT require a 20 or 30 series GPU unless you want to waste money to just play at 1080p/1440p :o)
GTX 780 TI plays ALL games fine @ 4K & at 1440p  so your upcoming 1660 super will be extra awesome for you :o)
