I purchased a card through a distributor in South africa(Corex IT).Warranty only expires next year June/July.
The card was sent to Evga (Taiwan) for testing and fault was found but no 1080ti cards are available for warranty.Evga will not replace with a equivalent which should be a 2080 XC ultra.
But instead passed a credit for the card to the distributor to pass on to me but not the full amount of what i paid for the card (R12000 paid but only R10200 is being given).
How is this fair to the customer where the card is under full warranty why would i not get my full amount paid or better yet just replace with equivalent and the local distributor has stock of the 2080 XC ultra but evga will not allow them to replace. But only give the low credit amount which i believe is worked on a sliding scale as i used the card for a certain period of time.
No other companies ie Gigabyte , Asus ans MSI does this sliding scale credit/refund if the card is under warranty and no stock is available. They replace with the next Equivalent as i have purchased these brands of cards for myself and clients ,had no issues like this before with warranties and its replacements policies with any of these Brands.
As a client i was not made aware of these sliding scales on credit / refunds or any of Evga polices like these.
I am a very disappoint to come across this with a large Brand like Evga.
I am hoping Evga would revise this case and hopefully at-least replace with the equivalent of what was sent in for rma.I cant actually do anything with the credit you passing on cause the only card i then have to buy is a 2070 and that would be a downgrade from my 1080TI performance.
Would a Evga REP please assist.
I included the email i received from the Distributor concerning my case.
I Must say Corex South Africa have been trying their very best to assist me but it seems everything lies with Evga.
