1080/1080Ti owners, have you tried the Forza 7 demo, if so, do you get stutters?

The game runs perfectly fine, and then, suddenly, it freezes and stutters severely for a second or two and then continues on.  This may happen once per race, sometimes twice, sometimes not at all.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I am still using the 385.41 drivers.  Another person I know has a 1080 GTX and a 6700k (compared to my 6850k and 1080Ti) and has the same issue.  Another person has a 980 and doesn't seem to have the problem.

Any input appreciated!

If it's the same kind of stuttering that Forza Horizon 3 would have, then that has more to do with the game scanning your drive as some sort of copy protection than your vid card.

Weird though that it doesn't happen on a 980 GTX or, for that matter on a Vega 64.  Must be because it was developed on AMD tech or something.  Also, I tried running the game on both my Samsung 950 Pro and the 3 Samsung Evo 850's in Raid 0, no difference there.  I must say though, on the 980 GTX we only tried each race once and never had the stutter whereas on my PC I had the stutter by the end of the first race.

Well the new drivers are out, I will give them a whirl.

Nope, but I'm currently experiencing micro stuttering from The Witcher 3. Maybe try this driver released yesterday?

I noticed that as well since I installed the latest driver yesterday.  I wasn't seeing that with the previous driver.

It seems like the new driver fixed the stutter in Forza 7.  Now that I read about the above mentioned problems in Witcher 3, I will have to test that now.

Witcher 3 is running ok for me, even with SLI.  So far so good.

I think I fixed it. @bdary, try setting max prerendered frames in nvcpnl to "2".

I should have been a bit more specific & clear.  The microstutter I'm seeing with the latest driver (in Witcher3) only happens for a few seconds right as I'm getting back into the game.  After that it runs perfect.  I mentioned this because I didn't see that in the previous driver or any other older drivers for that matter.

Thanks for the workaround in case others have a more serious issue with this.  And sorry OP for getting off topic here...

No problem, I play Witcher 3 still all the time too.  I don't know if it's because I haven't played the game in SLI for a long time, but with these new drivers the small microstutter in Witcher 3 that previous drivers had seems to be almost completely gone.  Need to play some more to see if that really is the case or if I am losing it.

F7 demo runs fine now with the new drivers, although you can tell that this is a demo since it has quite a few bugs and oddities in it yet.  One time it started with no engine sound, and when quitting out of the race to try it again, it quit to the desktop.  This was followed by everything in my Windows Start Menu disappearing and then reappearing partially when moving the mouse over it.  Crazy how a Microsoft game running on a Microsoft OS causes so many problems that you never see with Steam, Uplay, or Origin or GOG games.....

Actually, I did some research its the game's fault. Something about the 1.31 update. The unofficial fix is to set max prerendered frames to 1 and go into the settings.ini file and find the line "limitfps" and set it to 59, while setting the frame limit in game to unlimited. Smooth as butter  now.....I thought it was the 3500 pc having issues, lol. Also Op sorry for hijacking your thread.
