    If i was upgrading today and choosing one of the two, i'd go with the 2080.  As long as the extra 100-200$ isn't going to break the bank.  Right now the performance of both of those cards in the benchmarks is very similar but over time the 2080 will probably pull ahead.  Especially once we get into the DLSS games.  Plus i would generally take new tech over older tech.  But really it depends on your budget.  I'm not even factoring in any ray tracing, that means nothing to me right now.

    EDIT: Oh, looks like i can't post links.  But anyway, search for 'Digital Foundry DLSS' in Youtube and it's a pretty good discussion about 1080TI vs 2080 with DLSS.

    What are you going to use it for? (are the games you will play going to use RTX tech?, do you stream while you play?)
    If the answer is NO to both, you are probably better saving the money and going for 1080. If you do any of those things you might want to consider the 2080, but it is still difficult to make a solid "buy 2080" recommendation when there is no game that uses RTX at this time.

    If you have a 10 series card now, i would just skip the 20 series. The current ray tracing being added to select games, i don't think it's the full blown ray tracing. It will take game developers years to fully support it, by that time will see 7mm cards on the market.
