I'm not an expert overclocker when it comes to GPUs, it seems like no matter what setting I use the card will run int the 1976is ramge, it will peek at 2012.  This is with a +35 on the GPU and a +442 on the memory. If I push it beyond that I get crashing, in benchmarks and BF1.  The card cools really well and is allowing me to play BF1 at 1440p with everything at Utlra except for the undergrowth and effects settings, I turn theses down for combat effectiveness.  With Vsync off Gsync on and a FPS cap set at 139 I'm getting the best looking and smoothest game play I have ever had.

I got a Power link to go with this card as well and it looks better but there was no major change in temps on my setup.

For reference here is a cutout of HWinfo after several rounds of BF1, the only temperature on there is the GPU temperature but the memory and power temps also stay below 80.  I also don't notice the fan noise when I'm gaming.

It only makes a difference when the power draw starts to go up on the card really, especially on high end benchmarks like UNIGINE Superposition.  I'm going to run it through firemark, spymark, superposition, real gaming, etc.  I'll likely spend the entire weekend stressing my full system's OC to the max before settling on something.  Because that's the kind of guy I am...

I look forward to seeing your results,  I was able to get slightly higher OC on Heaven, it would peek at 2025 but still settle in the upper 1900's. I ran superposition a few times and got the same results but I didn't push it with that benchmark.  I seem to have come up a bit short in the lottery on this GPU but I'm extremely happy with it.

The caps in the powerlink help clean up the power signal going in, so when power draw amps up it helps with stability.  I've heard some of the cards are peaking at 2025, but i've heard more often than not they are settling in that area.  It seems you truly did get the short stick in the GPU lottery :(.

It ran well with my 980Ti which I replaced with the 1080Ti, it also runs well on my laptop with a 1070 in it,  I like to run at my refresh rate minus 5,  so 115 and 139 on my two machines.  I had always turned down a few setting though now I can crank it up.

I used the stock fan curves, and I haven't even seen them but it looks like they are made to keep the temps a 80, it never gets past that. I had the slider set to %120 and the temp to 90.  I'm not sure about the priority but I hit the power limit way before the temperature limit.  I messed around with the voltage slider but it mad no difference in any of my results.

If you see anything I'm doing wrong feel free to chime in, I had never OCed a GPU until last October when I saw people overclocking their laptops, that was fairly straight forward, the same thing with my 980Ti,   this whole boost thing is stumping me a bit.

EDIT: Added screen shot of my OC and stock fan curves.  I assume the curves are similar if not the same in the vBIOS.

Change the priority to temp.  It will continue to ramp up until it gets close to the TEMP target, you'll get better boosts out of it.  That's why your clocks seem to not be getting as high as normal. Your current setup will ramp until it reaches the POWER target.

I got my SC2 a couple of weeks ago now and out of the box the card boosted to 1,911 MHz.

However, I've been running my card at +100 MHz on the core and +500 MHz on the memory (12 GHz effective) with a 120% Power Target using MSI Afterburner (sorry but I just don't like EVGA Precision XOC), which gives a maximum boost of 2,000 MHz until the temperature hits 71 C then it dips to 1,987 MHz. Most games generally stay at 2 GHz though as temperatures are generally below 71 C (except for Mass Effect: Andromeda for some reason; in-game it runs between 59 and 65 C but hit a cutscene and the GPU can go as high as 78 C!).

I'm very happy with that overclock which is only 38 MHz lower than that of my previous GTX 1080 FTW card. I don't see the point of pushing any higher; the benchmarks show diminishing returns beyond that anyway, perhaps 1-2 fps extra at most, something I'm really not going to notice. So far in my testing every game and benchmark I've ran has been 100% stable at the overclock I'm using.

Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.0 GHz, ASUS Z87-DELUXE motherboard v2103, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1,600 MHz memory, 11 GB EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 graphics, Creative SB Sound Blaster Z sound, 1 TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD + 9 TB SATAIII hard drives, XFX Pro Black Edition 850 W, Windows 10 Pro v1703 64-bit

The problem with using Afterburner is that you can't get the full potential out of the EVGA cards, since you can't set the priority on it.  It also doesn't know how to use the a-synch fans or the extra temp monitors.

Just a quick update, as i'm not done:

I may have hit the silicon lottery, I've so far changed it to the aggressive fan profile, but i've got my power target at 120%, temp target at 90, and have my core offset to 70mhz, memory offset to 250mhz.  In UNIGINE Superposition i'm currently 73 in the top 100 for single card benchmarks and pushing up the boards as i continue to overclock on 1080p extreme.  I'm boosting up to 2050mhz, and staying generally at 2025.  I'll post an update with the final numbers when i'm done.

Edit:  No sooner had I posted this, I pushed to 75/275, and ended up pushing up to number 66 on the leaderboards:

I was able to get 6047 with my +35/+442 OC.   Since I changed the priority to Temperature I was able to get slightly more but I had to leave that all behind until Monday or Tuesday to see if I can make it stable.

    Thanks for the advice BTW.

Latest I've gotten is +100/+450 OC.  45th worldwide atm, still stable too.  Seriously, silicon lottery here.  I am at the max stable on the core (even 1 more on the core causes the bench to lock up), but i'm still pushing the memory clock up.

Gotta tell you, climbing the leaderboards is much slower as you get higher...  38 now with the following:

Running the same settings on my SC2 Hybrid, getting unstable if I go to +101, staying on +500 for now, unstable on me at +505. Seems they are very much alike ^^

Hi guys, have any of you overclocked the card yet? Please share the results

    Cheers!

I will let you know tomorrow when mine arrives ;)  I already have an EVGA powerlink for mine as well, so keep that in mind when i run mine.

May I ask you what fan curve you'r using?

Oddly enough, getting the exact same score, even though my OC settings are slightly different.
+135 on the Core, +550 on the Memory. Max GPU temp during stress testing is 47C (custom liquid cooling loop).

Here is a quick FireStrike score as well.

Holding out with this until the GTX 2080 (or 1180) is announced.

    Mr_Armageddon,

I joined just so I could PM you but of course I have a small quota to reach before I can do that.
So I'll just post on this thread.

Your OC is with the SC2 Gaming right? If so, you mentioned a custom liquid cooled loop. Could I bother you with details as to what Block you went with? Or if you would rather PM me, I would LOVE to hear what you used/what you did. I've been researching every waking minute the last couple weeks, talking with EKWB, searching for options with results of none I really cared to just jump right into. I'd greatly appreciate talking to someone who not only knows how to, but specifically, as you appear to, have done it with this specific GPU.

Look forward to hearing from you!

You can click on his mods rig profile for an idea, pretty involved water cooled build. He is using a EK block on his 1080.

Welcome to the forums, Lunar. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome sir!

So I had already looked through his build thinking he hadn't decided yet. He mentioned a couple possible cards and just at the beginning a block (TBD). Then after your post I decided to read through it again and discovered somehow what I thought was the end of the log, was one page before the GPU part. I continued to read the rest of the build, (gotta say it's an awesome log and really inspires to see a few things that you can do, that really spark some ideas of my own). Big applause to Mr.Armageddon, I enjoyed reading that!

So the final is actually a 1080? I only ask because the thread is "1080 TI SC2 GAMING Overclocks". So when he said his marks were similar but different settings and mentioned liquid cooling, I jumped. I've been so hard-pressed to find a block for this card (11G-P4-6593-KR). At the end of the log, I believe he mentioned upgrading to the 1080 TI. So, I'm wondering if he is indeed talking about the 1080 TI SC2 Gaming and if he has that liquid cooled. (checking his marks above where he mentions Liquid cooled, they do say 1080 TI for the GPU).

I'm trying not to take up too much space on this thread when my content is a little off topic (or at least I feel it is). Although liquid cooling could help an OC.

I have all my new build parts here except the liquid cooling parts (first time WC build here, Yeah I'm probably biting off a big chunk for my first attempt but I'm not really scared - Besides, I go big or go home, or like to think I do?).

    ---Build So far---
    ThermalTake The Tower 900
Asus ROG Maximus X Hero (WiFi-AC)
    Intel I7 8700k
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sc2 Gaming (11G-P4-6593-KR)
    EVGA SuperNova 750 G2 PSU
32GB (16x2) Gskill Tridentz RGB DDR4-3000 14-14-14-34 (later to buy 2 more sticks when they aren't so crazy in price for a total of 64GB)
    NVMe SSD 960 EVO M.2 - 500GB
    3TB HDD
    Windows 10 Home

Looking to Liquid cool - I know it's overkill
D5 Loop with 250-350mm Reservoir and 360(Triple) 38mm Radiator (1 for GPU and 1 for CPU) I'd go the 560's(Quad) but one component on each loop with a 360, from what I've read, I'd just be showing off with 560's. But I'm looking at watercooling as not just a way to OC, but less consistent high temps on my babies should equate to a longer happier life right?

That GPU Block is killing progress...
Looking at EVGA's product line. The HydroCopper block seems to list this model as compatible now. Can anyone confirm it fits? Although I am about to surf around the forums to shed some light on this mystery as well as to see if it's possible to remove the cover on the HydroCoppers, I really like sporting the EVGA on it, I'm a loyal and proud type of customer, but I plan to have UV fluid with Cablemod RGB/UV LED strips. So I love the see-thru acrylic or plexi top GPU Water Blocks.

Anyway, I've taken up enough space. I hope I can post some OC's for my card here soon and maybe add my own little build log!

    Thanks again Notfordman!
