New to the forums and EVGA, but I have to say this is a much faster process than what I had imagined. Stepping up from a 1080 FTW Hybrid to the 1080 TI. If I'm lucky I may get it by this coming weekend.

Any movement on European step ups for anyone yet?

No,not yet. 2 1/2 weeks later still nothing. And I applied for step up as soon as it went online on eu site, still stuck at step 1. It seems kinda unfair that we have to wait that long and the card is in stock for almost 2 weeks now on EU site. Makes me wanna buy it directly and keep my 1080 FTW2

Anyone who sent there GPUs in did you use the box it came in? Because there email said to have 2 inches of packing material all around . But the box mine came in just had a bunch on each side and none under or on the top. the picture above shows it. in the box there is no room to add anything underneath or on top or the box doesn't close. unsure if I need to go to the store and buy a deeper box or if this will be fine

2x now i've packed my GPU the same way it was sent to me. GPU box inside of a slightly larger brown box with some packing material on top and the sides to keep it from bouncing around.

Mine has reached EVGA Friday morning, I hope they'll ship it out today so that I might even get it tomorrow (I live around 40 miles from them). Excited to test it out : )

Multiple times, but I've noticed this too. They tell us one thing but they send us a bad example of it lol. Butt if you think about it the original packaging gpu box itself acts like the extra padding anyways. I did manage to squeeze in an extra air bag between the top and bottom if a few of my shipments.

ya there is zero clearance under or on top of my card in its box. I could maybe get a layer or two of thin bubble wrap on the top and bottom but there is no way i can even get an even inch of packing material on either side

I am very sorry that that some people are confused about what type of box to use and what kind of Cushioning to use.

1) For any crazy folks out there (Not this Poster) Do not ever ever ship your Step-up Gpu in a type of Envelope of any kind because they will be immediately thrown to the way-side.

2) Try to always keep the Original package (box) that your original Evga Gpu came in just in case of anyone having an Rma or the Step-up including keeping the insulation padding if possible in a safe place.

3) Have padding/insulation on the Bottom, Top and sides of the Gpu you are returning, that way Evga can process your order quicker and the padding on the Top, Bottom and Sides help keep the Gpu safer from Crazy postman that can get angry and bash the box, but the Gpu, with the padding on all sides will help keep the Gpu safe.

Hope this helps.

UPS and even Fed-Ex is the best way to ship, but UPS is Evga preferred always because they are a Lot faster than USPS. But USPS, UPS and Fed-Ex, etc, should always have a different assortment of boxes that you and anyone else will need for you Gpu shipment and enough space for insulation as well.

Thin layer is fine on the bottom, they don't usually care too much about the top.

Edit: I should say, they don't usually care too much about the top of the box as long as it has a good solid-top to the box heheh. :)

Not the right thread, but for Everyone involved, i must tell everyone to avoid Auctioning sites like the plague. Most of all this includes Ebay, as their isn't a more well known place that has so many liar and deceivers. All they have to do is Copy and Paste a picture of ant product and sell it.

I'd pay extra just to get any product from the source maker or/ and places like Evga.

Mailed my GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid this last Friday the 24th from Vegas. UPS tracking is showing EVGA received the package this morning. Not too bad.

Hopefully I'll get confirmation that my 1080 Ti will ship out in the next couple days. This whole process has been pretty seamless and straight forward.

also point to be noted pretty sure if you buy of ebay or other non authorized retailers you get no warranty. It possibly could transfer the warranty since it is sold to you in new condition but expensive stuff like this i usually go to new egg or amazon(sold by amazon)

If you have the original box they fit perfectly in usps flat rate medium boxes.
my hybrid card box is quite tall doesn't really fit in one. Also not a fan of USPS at least around me

I've found that the standard 'Priority Mail' boxes they have at the Post Office are usually not deep enough for video cards.  The one that is deep enough, isn't long enough.  I've never bought any boxes at the UPS store, but I usually get a box at the local supermarket.  I ask if they have any boxes about the size I need, and they usually have at least one that I can use.

I'm waiting for one of my cards to be 'stepped-up' to the 1080ti, and when that comes back to me, I'll use the box that EVGA sent it in to ship my second card back to them.
