I have noticed that one of my 1080 FTW cards runs at nearly 2000mhz clock speed with stock settings. Can this be correct? And it easily clocks to 2200mhz and 5500mhz mem clock stable. The other one, can get to 2100...

Indeed you won the lottery with both cards. I have never seen a 1080 hit 2200 stable on air yet. First for me seeing this.

Similar results here. I've been happy with the stock speeds so I haven't tried over clocking yet.
However, I was playing some Paragon and alt tabbed out (not a fan of overlays) to check temps when I noticed the clock was running at 2ghz. I triple checked because I didn't think the card would boost any higher than the speed listed on the product page.
Just out of curiosity, do you keep your house cool? I keep the thermostat at 70 and when I turn on the dehumidifier in the man cave it drops to 64 degrees ambient temperature.
I'm sure that helps with boosting. ;)

You indeed hit the lottery. My classy out of the box was only hitting 1967 mhz. Right now I got it over clocked roughly to 2150 and almost stable. Interesting testing my 980ti sli versus the classy though.

Not sure how you stress tested your cards and for how long. If you have a 4K monitor run Valley benchmarking software at 4K for at least 30 minutes. That 2200 clock will drop due to the increased temps on the core. This will also fully test the stability. Look for artifacts, blue flashes on the screen. If you don't have a 4K monitor at least use a 1440 res. monitor. My classy will boost to 2200, but will crash within a minute. My stable 4K res. overclock is 2139 boost and bottom out at 2114 after 30 minutes of punishing heat. At 1080 res. my overclock is 2161 and 2126 after 30 min of 1080P valley. I also had a FTW and could only hit 2035. (stressed) If you can maintain a 2200 clock(on Air) after 30min running 4K valley benchmark then you truly have a diamond. :) Thinking your stressed clock is between 2150-2165, which is also a top 5-10% card. A winner indeed.

I got my classy as dialed in and stabilized as I can after several hours of valley, heaven, 3d mark, etc. With the second bios and a 130% power target, I top at 2101 on the core. From precision I am at +80 on the GPU clock and +750 on the mem clock. Pretty much anything after that is instant crash or serious artifacts. I am also testing on Acer Predators at 1440p. My only determination now is whether to return my classy and continue to run my sli 980TI's.

If you use a voltage curve, I am sure you will get much better OCs

I ran furmark for an hour or so but it is a moot point as the other card is stable at 2050 and my slight OCD won't allow me to run the cards at different speeds... not to mention I only have a 1080p monitor atm. Researching 4K monitors now so I will retest it when I get it and see if it is still stable at that speed.
