I purchased 2 1050TI FTW Gaming cards.
the DVI connector is only DVI-D not DVI-I
so I cannot use a DVI-to-VGA adapter.

Does anyone know if a DisplayPort-to-VGA, and HDMI-to-VGA will work on this card.

Thanks..

HDMI is DVI in a different layout.  This basically means, you cant adapt HDMI to VGA if you cant adapt DVI to VGA on these cards.

Now DisplayPort can be converted to VGA, but you want to make sure it is a DisplayPort to VGA not DisplayPort++ to VGA.  Also you want to make sure the adapter is passive and not active.

All the 10 series cards are DP++, so you can use passive adaptors for HDMI and DVI, but VGA will require an active adaptor. Monoprice has one here

Thank you guys very much.
that's what I needed.

Now if he has 2 VGA monitors, that's probably not gonna happen without a second card?

Yeah, you'd need to find an adaptor for one of the other outputs if you're going to run more than one VGA monitor. It'd be best to finally upgrade the displays instead.

Dont wanna hijack this thread. But does someone know perhaps if the HDMI to DVI Converter supports 144hz or more monitors? Ive once been told it doesn't for some reason. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies.
Whats sad is the monitors are not that old.
Dell wide screen LCD that only VGA. but I only paid $10 each for them so I'm guessing that's why they sold them so cheap.
one was brand new in package, the other was new but opened.
It's for my 12 yr. old and he's happy with them.

I have an old ATI X300SE that can only use Microsoft Basic Display Driver.
I wonder if it can be used in the system with the 1050TI

I also have older DX9/10 9800GTX+, GTX285, 9600GT, etc... cards, but have read they cannot be used in the system with newer Nvidia cards due to different drivers.
So I guess older drivers cannot be installed along side the new driver.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I will order the adapter from the link you recommended.
I appreciate it.

The description on all the cards in the 10 series says DisplayPort, not DisplayPort++.  Is that an error?

I've personally used the Monoprice passive DP-DVI adaptor on a 960 and a 1080, so I can confirm that they work. A passive adaptor will only work with a DP++ output.

A question if you are still around.

This Displayport to DVI-D has the vga.
I wonder if it would adapt to VGA.

(Dispalyport)-to-(DVI)-to-(VGA)

I do need one of these anyway, so I'm ordering at least 1 of each.
But for future reference it may come in handy. I will test it when it comes in.

I haven't tested it, but I don't think that it will adapt to VGA, even though it has the holes for it. It's strictly a passive adaptor.

Finally got these in today.
the (Displayport-to-VGA) works as expected no issue.
Thanks EVGATech_ErinW

Using 2 adpaters (Dispalyport)-to-(DVI)-to-(VGA):
Just in case anyone wanted to know. I tried the (Displayport-to-DVI) with the (DVI-to-VGA) as expected it did NOT work.

But all is good now.

Thanks...
