A gracious Thank you to EVGA, Corsair, and FrozenCPU for their Sponsorship of this project!

This is the concept drawing for scratch build project of a custom tech Station for FrozenCPU

FrozenCPU wanted their PC to be jaw dropping, unique and utilitarian. After the Concept is born, the next stage is altering the Concept to host their tasty menu for the best hardware. I suggested the build utilize two loops with 480 radiators and the cover open automatically. We're tentatively titling their build "FrozenCPU Tech Station" but "Billet Pron Bench" may be more appropriate.

This build log is sponsored by EVGA & Corsair. I will also share highlights from the build videos that will be produced for Mnpctech's YouTube Channel

The chassis width is just under 23"

The lower front bezel, for optical drive bay, power switch, power and HD activity LEDS.

Glad you like it soo far gang!  :D ....we've been wanting to build a tech station from aluminum for awhile, and was very happy when frozencpu approached us. We hope to create smaller one for retail someday...

Tech Station floor was milled from 1/4" sheet of 6061

SSD cage mounting holes

Chassis back plates with jaw line

The 480 radiator grills are cnc machined from 3/16" thick billet, http://www.frozencpu.com/...ad_120mm_-_Silver.html

480 radiator grill machined from 3/16" sheet, inspired by Mnpctech Machined Aluminum radiator grill with rotating grill inserts, sold by frozencpu here,

machined rods were finished yesterday...

the rods will join the 30x ribs that make the top cover

these spacers will go between each of the 30 ribs in  the cover...

The Tech Station will rest upon these machined aluminum PC case feet with thick rubber inserts, http://www.frozencpu.com/..._Grooved_-_Silver.html
http://www.frozencpu.com/..._Grooved_-_Silver.html

Finished the individual parts for the Motherboard I/O. Mounting posts and swing arm, which will hold down the I/O brackets on the GPUs. ....

The build construction will utilize these Machine Socket Head Screws

We have two Titans from EVGA!

I took a mental break yesterday to install our machined alum case feet onto the Tech Station.

Frozen retails Mnpctech's Aluminum "Grooved" Case Feet here,http://www.frozencpu...d_-_Silver.html

The kind folks at Corsair were generous to sponsor this project with new Force GS SSD 240 GB and two 16 GB packs of Dominator DDR3 to utilize in our build. Awesome! Thank you Corsair!!!!!

I've seen some of your pics of this build on facebook, and I must say this is a completely insane build. even though its aluminum it's going to weigh a ton. cant wait to see it finished. Also wish I could see it in person. I'm sure it's a much more awe inspiring build in person. keep up the good work, love seeing your builds.

    Thank you Zophar!

I finally got the actuator installed. The cover weighs 8.5 pounds and opened with Firgelli L16-P actuator arm. It's powered by electric motor with gear drive inside that extends single arm back and forth. The L-16  actuator max force rating is 200N, which translates to 45 pounds. Data sheet PDF http://www.firgelli.com/pdf/L16_datasheet.pdf
    Firgelli L16-P Linear Actuator, 100mm Stroke, 150:1 gear ratio, 12 volts @ $100LAC (Linear Actuator Control Board) @ $0Subtotal:    $100.00UPS Ground Shipping:    $15.58Grand Total:  $115.58
I also purchased the LAC controller for the Actuator.

What is the plan for the finish on the aluminum? Are you leaving it raw? Or will it be polished? And I'm assuming since you have 8 sticks of memory this build is going X-79. Is it possible that you will be using an X-79 dark mobo?

Sweet, and I hope that the problems with the original X79 boards are fixed. I'll never be able to afford an X79 build, but I'd like to see EVGA back on top of the motherboard world again. Just like your other projects I can't wait to see more updates. Keep up the amazing work.

The features that these PSU's offer is pretty cool. I've been waiting for EVGA to announce the 1000w and 1200w versions. The showed them at CES but that's the last I've seen or heard of them. I've tried to get Jacob to comment more about them but haven't gotten anywhere yet.

I've got another question for you. If you don't mind me asking what's a round about cost just in material for the Tech Station? Just in the aluminum alone?

Dude, this design is so insane! I have found my new favorite case! I love the look of the NZXT M-59, best $59.99 I have ever spent. But recently I have been getting a bit friendly with going to a much higher power PC and Liquid Cooling it. My problem is I will need a new case, my M-59 is not built for an interior cooling unit for the LQ system.
Is this a case you would sell to a company or to a buyer and or sell out designs like the Danger Den so people can build their own?

Thank you for all of the comments and feedback!Well, It's been a crazy holiday week already! Zophar asks how much material was? around $1,000, and Gold Leader,  I'm trying to get another machine shop to help progress on Andrew's waterblocks, since we're overwhelmed. ThatOneBeaner, we do commissioned builds for business and manufacturers only, but highly recommend looking at CaseLabs cases if you can afford them OR Fractal-Design for really good inexpensive cases. Dangerden cases were really more purpose built, and don't offer hardly, if any? user features. Theyre basically acrylic panels screwed together.

We're preparing for another project, that will be a facebook giveaway of a customized case to promote our favorite new band, Tokyoidaho

We're looking into adding a gas charged spring to the other side of the Tech Station, just as added precautionary measure, in case the actuator ever failed. Several people expressed interest in making ATX version of the CNC Machined Aluminum Motherboard Tray. I'm looking into contracting another shop to make these, so I don't have a cost confirmed yet, but here is what the proposed kit would look like and include,One Mainboard Tray with four large opening for PSU cables and connections. One Rear I/O Shield Plate with & PCI slots. Two triangular Motherboard brackets that connect Mainboard Tray to I/O Shield. Two reinforcement brackest for triangular motherboard brackets.Nine Motherboard Stand-off risers.Finish is brushed bare Aluminum.Includes 6/32 tapered flat head stainless machine screws.

Not surprising on the cost of the material. I was figuring a little less than that though. My guess was in the $700 to $800 range. The pics of the tray and I/O plate are pretty cool. They could be used as the base for a very sweet benching station, or obviously as the beginning of someones own custom built aluminum case. And lasty, darn you for all of your videos posted to youtube lol. I was watching your review and quick mod on the Corsair 200R and now I really want to go pick one up and do the dual 120mm fan mod to the front like you did. It would make a very nice looking case for the family's machine. Keep up the good work, when I get more time I'm going to sit down and watch more of those videos, pretty interesting stuff there.
